Came across this today and was surprised. Especially regarding the fact that he called to reopen the talks? Any chance this is a good faith effort and not some angle to show that he is trying to get something worked out?

That article is from back in July 2007. Rather stale. I don't think it has much bearing on the issue at this point in time, but who knows.
