I'm a jr in HS right now and i'm planning on going away for college. I want to major in radio/tv communications and since Depaul is: in chicago (heard it's a great city/cheaper), in the big east, on a list where i have a chance of getting 100% schollie, and because they created a new communications college there. i'm thinking of going there.

just wondering what people have heard of the school from friends or their own expericences? it seems like the students there always enjoy their time there and i love the diversity it has. thanks

I go to DePaul and am in the journalism dept, so I'm fairly close to your major. It is a great city, and probably cheaper in comparison to where you're from, but it's still a pretty damn expensive place. Worth it, but expensive.

The new comm department is more in effect for grad school than undergrad right now I think(as far as classes go), but I think everything else will be implemented in the next year, so you should be good- especially since they got a bunch of new high tech stuff having to do with radio/tv/film(editing equip, new computers in huge labs, etc).

As far as the school in general, I transferred here before my jr year and I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Once you get acclimated to living in Chicago and meet some people, you'll probably love it like most people do. It's more of a bar school than a party school(unfortunately) since nice big apts are at a premium. Lots of stuff to do around the city, especially after you turn 21.

Ask anything else you want to know and I can at least probably point you in the right direction.

I am from chicago and while I dont go to depaul I work there. A lot of my friends who go there are pretty happy I have never heard them complain about anything really. This isnt true for other colleges. The girls are also pretty hot and when you get old enough there are bars everywhere.
