Who would you REALISTICALLY trade for before deadline?

Post#1 » by YogiStewart » Fri Jan 11, 2008 4:31 pm

If you had to pick up one player, who would you realistically (and that's the key word, so we can filter out all dumb Kobe requests) trade for?

I'd love to have Jeff Foster on the team. I can't see BC trading for him, but I think he would be a great fit.

KOBE!

...sorry couldn't resist...

Realistically, I just want to see what this team is capable of when everyone is healthy. Sure, more rebounding help would be nice but, I'd like to see Bargs get as many minutes as he can.

If TJ is coming back, we don't really need any PG help unless its to pick up an insurance player and, we're kinda logjammed at the SG/SF unless we can trade for someone thats head and shoulders above AP, JK, JM and CD.

If we can pick up Ridnour and Charlie V for guys that don't even play on our roster anymore it would be great for this team imo. We would have a very young core that would either be a bunch of great trade bait or they could grow together into a championship team if we also get some veterans willing to teach.

In my opinion these guys are expendable:

-Graham
-Dixon
-Delfino
-Martin
-Baston
-Rasho
-AP (for the right piece)
-Garbo

If we can get Ridnour, I'd rather bring Jeff Green along with him then make a separate trade for CV. I don't think Seattle does that deal though.

Yeah, pretty much what I was thinking. We've amassed a bunch of ok to pretty good players at SG/SF.

Id like to free up some money and find a way to move Rasho, Kapono. Yes I believe Kapono is not fitting in well here and I believe there is a couple high profile teams that have a title shot this year that would love to have his deadly shooting. I would also like to possibly move Delfino and Dixon both expiring deals and maybe include them in a package to get maybe one solid player from a team lookin to free up some cap space.

For who? I dont know but those are some of the things I would like to see done because for me its all about the future and being competitive along the way.

Trade for...don't have anyone in mind in particular. Its more about what skills we need on our team, which is obviously rebounding and toughness without giving up all our offense.

Who is expendable from our side is easy: everyone but Bosh and Jose. We have plenty of interchangable swings and backup bigs. But we have no one to replace Jose or Bosh, and won't get an upgrade to either of them in a trade.

They gave up Ray Allen for Jeff Green, he's staying on the Sonics. Ridnour is at least realistic.

If Artest is available, do everything in your power to get him. Take you pick Sacramento, anyone outside Bosh, Bargnani, Ford, and Calderon is expendable.

Someone whos a hustle player and not afraid to go inside and bang for boards. I would do a Jared Dudley for Joey trade.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

Who would we send their way? I don't think Ridnour would be content to be a 3rd stringer when TJ comes back. Also, unless Seattle makes a separate trade for an additional PG, they'd only have Earl Watson manning the point.

The following scenario works under the trade checker but, in my opinion, its pretty horrible for the Raps:

To Toronto: Ridnour & Kurt Thomas
To Seattle: Rasho, Jose & Joey

I think the Clips are going to heavily shop Magette and get back anything they can for him.

I'd offer Delfino + Dixon + future 1st for him.

Delonte West runs the point more than Ridnour.

We would probably do something like:

Dixon
Graham
Delfino

FOR

Ridnour

I would try and bring Artest in, he would solve our softness problem right away, but BC would probably never bring him near one of his organizations.

If we could get Charlie back for really cheap, I'm talking Joey+Juan cheap then I would do it.

With Mitchell punking charlie every 2 seconds I think he could be a better player here in Toronto than he was with the Bucks[/i]

i really just want to get rid of a few players. dixon can stay since he's expiring. joey needs to go, baston is expendable too.

joey has actually done well this season. some team could toss us a second rounder for him.
Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

and why would we do that...

first of all he's got a horrible contract

second of all he sucks

third of all, he can't defend lick

4th of all, we would never want him on this team he's a loser
