PHI/MEMPHIS Carney goes home

Post#1 » by Samson » Mon Jan 14, 2008 3:49 am

PHI sends

SG/SF Rodney Carney
PF/C Shavlik Randolph

MEM sends
F Hakim Warrick
G Kyle Lowry

MEM gets its local hero and super-stud-athlete, Rodney Carney. He's not playing in PHI and new PHI GM doesn't see him as part of the future. He immediately becomes the Grizz local-boy-hero, teaming with Rudy Gay as the their 1-2 punch. They also get a former #1 overall highschool crown jewel recruit with tons of potential bigman in Randolph, who has shown flashes of potential .... When Pau goes he could team with Darko to form an uncanny frontline for 10 years.

PHI gets two Philly guys and shakes things up... a win win...

Um....home for Rodney Carney is Indianapolis. Memphis was just his college.

Either way, it seems like Philly gets a sweet deal and Memphis gets a little hosed. It seems like the two players Memphis gives up are better than any piece they get in return, and possibly better than the entire package they get in return.

I thought you were doing okay until Lowry's name came up. He's got by far the most value in this trade, and Philadelphia isn't giving up nearly enough to get him and Warrick.

I'm sure he went to dictionary.com and saw this:

un-can-ny, -adjective

2. mysterious; arousing superstitious fear or dread; uncomfortably strange

You are trying so hard to sell some average-to-ok players to try and get some good value from the Griz

Philly would make the trade of Carney for Warrick. He hasn't shown much yet but it's still too early to give up on him. Not sure about Warrick's problems with the coach but maybe it's time for Memphis to move him as well.
