The number one spot in the west is at stake.

Lakers public enemy number one of recent years, get the benefit of playing against us in the second game without Bynum. Let's see if we can't get our third straight win over them anyway. Amare should have a good night, but there's no reason for the Lakers to let any other Suns player have a big night.

Defense, defense, defense!!! Execute, execute, execute. No room for slip-ups against the Suns. The Lakers need to play smart and disciplined, swing the ball around offensively, crash the defensive glass like possessed and get back in transition.

Fisher and Farmar need to attack Nash, make him play defense, try to draw some fouls on him, get him out of his rhythm. Just like Fish did last time.

I'd start Ariza and assign him to lock down Grant Hill.

Kobe must avoid gambling on defense and stay home with Bell on the perimeter, it's not like he's going to drive to the hoop anyway.

Odom has proven that he can contain Marion and need to do just that, no offensive rebounds allowed for Marion.

As for the center position, playing against Amare, I'd start Kwame. It doesn't really matter who we start because they'll end up splitting the minutes anyway and Amare will get his no matter whom we start. Kwame is much stronger than Turiaf. It's more exhausting for Amare to play Kwame. Bang him up a bit.

Barbosa? I don't know what to do with him. Avoid turning the ball over.

No Bynum? Gotta go back to the Kobe game since nobody else in our team will step up to be a second option. *coughLamarOdomcough*

And we know how that works. Kobe can score as much as he wants in this game, but the Suns will most likely outscore him as a team.

Being the Laker fan I am, I'll still say we got a shot against this team no doubt.

it's @ home so that should help...

I say start Turiaf over Kwame. Make Amare play D. I think Kobe trusts Turiaf over Kwame anyways.

Are Sasha and Radmanovic back for this one? especially sasha. would like to keep fresh legs to keep up w/ nash and barbosa. At the very least they spread the floor and give lanes for guys to drive to the basket.

As part of my new plan to send Kwame Brown positive mojo- I will say this.

Kwame will go for 18-12 ( EDIT: no that is not FG% and FT% )

Assuming Kobe plays more of a team game and makes a point of it to get others involved (especially Lamar, since he usually dominates Marion), i think this has a good chance of being a win.

Yes, 25/12/7. Whenever Lamar has had a big game, Lakers almost always wins especially versus the Suns. I predict suns by 8, but I'm hoping for Lakers by 5.

lakers' defense made luke ridnour look like nash last night, wonder what they'll make nash look like. odom and kwame's defense is going to have to make a complete turn around.

This would be a huge win for our team and build confidence going into the upcoming difficult stretch. We need to play with much more energy and focus than we did against Seattle, that's for sure. I think the key is containing Amare while also defending the 3-point line. Kwame needs to show up for this one and make it tough for Amare, or we could be in for a long night. Another key is the Odom/Marion match up, which is almost always won by Odom. That needs to continue.

The Suns are in a bit of a funk at the moment, so this is a perfect opportunity to capitalize on that.
