Trade Deadline-Your hopes and expectations?
The trade deadline is only a couple of weeks off. What do you want to happen? What do you think will happen?

I can honestly say I think Portland should stand pat. Sure there are upgrades I'd like, but I don't think Portland should make any moves without the future still in mind. There are a lot of great pieces right now, and a HUGE difference will be made when Oden comes back.
About the only guy I can see moving is Jack to get either a better point guard, or a better two.

I think we stand pat.. Theres no reason to mess with what we have going on during the season.
As far as future trades this summer, besides the fact that I have been known to be a Jazk apologist, I just see Sergio being traded before Jack does. If Jack can settle with being a bench guy, I think Nate will lobby hard to keep him and trade Sergio. We are a half court team with jump shooters. Sergio doesnt fit the mold of this team. Yes he could become this or become that, but I just dont see it. I could see Sergio being moved this summer, along with either the 1st rd pick or Miles, or perhaps even both. We need condense roster spots, and as far as the backcourt goes, I think Sergio is the odd man out. I think Jack is the second unit PG and Rudy is the second unit SG.
Of course, I could be totally wrong, and it wouldnt be the first time. The way this team is playing, and seems to be built, Jack is just a better fit than Sergio

Personally I think the Blazers should stick with the roster we have until this summer..We are going to need to make some moves this summer though considering we have a full roster and have like 5 euros that are going to either come over or need to be just let go..The team we have right now though can succeed in the NBA and will be a tough out when the playoffs come...

With the awesome chemistry going on between the team, I think a trade that involves any rotation player would seriously damage the morale of the players.

If somebody gets desperate and wants to take on Miles then I really want it to happen. Say we get in on a three way by contributing Miles and Jack to get back an expiring or soon to be expiring plus a guard that can play some minutes at the 2 this season, then sure, but other than that I doubt we do much.
Next year at this time we'll be looking a lot closer at dealing some players to clear our cap or set us up for the playoffs. So I think for us, deals will come at the draft this year (as they seemingly always do under KP), or at the deadline/draft next year.

I hate to break it to you ( Also to anyone Else who is clueless) but the Blazers are STUCK with him until his last year of contract OR ( Prays every day ) that he will retire. NO TEAM and i mean NO TEAM not even Isiah is DUMB enough to take on Miles.
Oh, I disagree. I can think of several scenarios where teams would take Miles.
Of course, those scenarios require the Blazers to include "filler." And that filler would have to be Roy, Aldridge or Oden.
As for the possibility of packing Miles with Jack... I can only see the Blazers getting a max-contract garbage sack filled with **** in return.

As Kevin Pritchard himself has said, every player is tradable. It just depends on how much you're willing to part with to get it done and what kind of contract you're willing to take back in return.

There should be no reason to make any trades, but something needs to be addressed with all the rights to players you own. Aside from Fernandez, how many are TRULY in the future of the team?
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Quick had a interesting comment in his chat today. It should be noted that his comments are strictly his own gut feeling that he has got after watching the team. But he said, particularly after watching the New Jersey game, he believes the Blazers are more open than ever to moving Sergio. He thinks that the team isn't really pleased with the lack of progress being shown by Sergio right now. During the NJ game, the Blazers had a 14 point lead at one point, then Nate put Sergio in and the lead dwindled to 7, at which point Nate took Sergio out and the team regained control of th game. It also shouldn't shock anyone that Nate and Sergio aren't exactly a perfect match.
Anyway, long-story-short, Quick believes that from now until the end of the season, it's going to be an audition between Jack and Sergio to see which one the Blazers should keep and which one they will have to move.

I'm definitely one of the few people who has absolutely no problem moving Sergio. However, I do wonder what moving Sergio might mean for bringing Rudy Fernandez over. The two are very close friends from what I seem to remember hearing that one reason Rudy wants to come over so bad is because of Sergio... but I'm not to sure how reliable that is.
Regardless, outside of the Rudy factor, I have no problem moving Sergio in the right deal.

It's a easy thing for people to dismiss, because as Quick himself mentioned, it really is just the feeling he gets from watching the team. No one has said anything to that effect to him in an interview or anything.
However, he is much closer to the team than any of us are, so take it for what it's worth...

I agree with that, especially the green part.

I do like Jack & really wish he was better.. .
I think he has game, I just dont think he is
what the Blazers need, which is a backup SG
that can score the ball and get to the line.. .
Jack thinks hes a PG which gets him and the
team into trouble. But to Jacks credit whenever
he makes a mistake he usually follows up with
something to make up for it.. .Seems like a great
guy and fits in with the team personality wise.. .
I just think we're going to have to move him
to help the Blazers get to the next level.. .

Thats what I said on page 1.. I just dont see him as a good fit here.. I have given up on Jack becoming the next Billups
