Local Talent - Marcus Williams

Post#1 » by Hiphophead101 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 10:54 pm

Roosevelt High School product Marcus Williams is heating up in the D-League after being drafted in the 2nd round by the San Antonio Spurs. Marcus is off to a 18 ppg 7 rpg 3 apg start with the Austin Torros, including an impressive 32 point, 20 rebound effort in 51 minutes in a win over rio grand valley. I'm glad to see Marcus do so well, I watched one of his games when he played my High School in basketball. I just thought I would share his recent feats to the Seattle Area basketball fans.

I was hoping the Sonics would have picked him up with one of their second round picks this year, I really think he slipped.

As a fellow Roughrider grad, I congratulate Marcus on being drafted by a perennial contender.

...and then being subsequently cut before the season ever started? cause thats what happened. in fact, the spurs resigned him when barry and manu went down, then cut him again two days latter to sign keith langford and demarr johnson, who were both then cut the next week.

stunk up the place when he got PT during the summer leagues and camp. kid just isnt nba ready yet and should never have come out. his career may be over before it ever gets started.

His senior year he looked TERRIBLE at state. I remember watching him thinking he was way too selfish, Brockman's snohomish team took them out of there element completely.

Seattle Prep looked terrible that year too... But they still produced two nba players.

He is one of the more selfish individuals around. He became unwanted at Arizona and I doubt he will do much in the league until he gets his attitude under control.

Yes, but somehow they missed the playoffs losing to Blanchet the final game of the season. How do you lose that game when you have Spencer Hawes, Martell Webster and Nick Fearn who's now at Oregon. I want to say they lost 9 games that year. Brutal.

Marcus Williams plays DEFENSE? If you ask the Pac 10, they would be surprised too.
