I think it was after his 5th shot. Thats truely a shame. Such low class behavior belongs in cities like Philly. See all their booing has left the city with a draught of no championships in any major sport for almost 25 years. Lets not become the next Philly please.

Yeah, booing will help him play better. Honestly, we have some of the stupidest fans in professional sports.

Maybe if we treat him like Philly he will turn into Rocky.

I too am against it, but hey: Fans boo. It's part of the game. The surest way to avoid it is to make shots. It's a shame, too, because for the most part I liked what Andrea did on the court last night, but his jumper has deserted him entirely. If he was shooting the ball the way he did at the end of last year, all his other issues would look so much smaller.

Do you honestly think that fans haven't booed their own players in other arenas around the league?

I was actually happy to see it. Hopefully this wakes him up. The fans have supported him till now and it's time we let him know we're not happy. You can only coddle a player for so long. That's why I've always liked Mitchell's approach a lot more than what BC wants.

Well I lol'ed martin was booed so I can't hate. And even myself, a Bargs fan who still has faith, he was bricking. He played better though and looked good around the basket. I think though, the building is always just waiting for him to get it together and he'll be a fave again. It wasn't that long ago a poll was created asking whose highlights do fans like to check out first or most and Bargs was tops. People are just frustrated from the prolonged lack of highlights and for whatever reason, as fas as slumps go - this is one of the longer ones.

Doesn't mean they're not stupid too. But how many smart NBA fans boo a 22 year old struggling sophmore.

So they should wait until he's out of his slump to boo?

I would never encourage booing the home team and have never done it myself but I'm realistic about it. Fans boo players they feel are disappointing or not player hard. I'm actually a bit surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Well, he missed 3 or 4 shots in a two minute span....I was in a room full of people who were expressing their displeasure that he kept shooting so quickly, so why can't the fans at the arena do the same?

First of all, you don't know what BC wants. Considering how he hasn't corrected Sam at all, and he's talked about how disappointed he is in Bargs this year, I'd say the coddling talk is just your own projection.

Bargs was playing hard last night, but missing shots. His rebounding and defence were fine, which is what a lot of his detractors want to see. But he was missing open shots he used to make. Where's the sense in booing that? He wasn't making stupid mistakes on either end to get booed, he wasn't giving a half assed effort, he wasn't fouling like crazy. Booing him to let him know you aren't happy with him missing shots is just stupid. I bet he wassn't happy he was missing shots either.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I don't boo for someone missing shots they SHOULD take. Every shot he took last night was smart, and pretty much wide open (save the fade away on the baseline, which was still a good shot IMO).

Like the poster above, I boo for lack of hustle. But last night Bargnani showed hustle and was into the game mentally. His confidence is just really low right now. Getting booed doesn't do wonders for confidence.
