Incoming Players
Etan Thomas
MEM first tound draft pick (protected)
Outgoing Players
Antoine Wright

Why for New Jersey
They big up a decent big that can give them around 10 points and 8 rebounds a game. He also plays Defence and does the dirty work which is what new jersey needs from their bigmen.

2. This deal would only be in the off season, and only if we are knocked out in the 1st round or miss the playoffs completely.
I don't quite understand this comment. Are you talking about dumping these guys on New Jersey? 'Cause that's not happening.
As for Etan, we're about as thrilled with him cutting into Josh's and Sean's minutes as you are about Pech and Blatche. I would consider one deal though: Songaila, Stevenson and the MEM 1st (exactly what type of protection is on it?) for Magloire and Nachbar.

Well from what here from net fans they don't get anything from the front court. Thomas is a definate improvement over collins and he can provide the tough inside Defence that the nets seem to lack.
I also don't see why the wizards wouldn't do this because they just don't have a need for etan. if anything he cuts into haywoods minutes but he could provide usage for the nets.
The pick will probely not come untill 2010-2011ish its like top 20 this year 16 the next then lotto then top 5

The Wizards are not looking to "dump" Stevenson or Daniels. They're perfect fits on a roster with Gilbert Arenas.
I agree with ecuhus1981 that the Nets aren't exactly dying for a guy like Etan. However, they could probably utilize him better than the Wizards because their system doesn't rely on the center handling the ball much on offense (other than to catch and dunk).
I think something like Etan + Memphis pick for Jason Collins would be more fair. Basically, the Wizards sacrifice the pick to get out of Etan's contract a year early (which would solve their luxtax problems in 2009/10). The Nets get a guy roughly as good as Collins on defense (better help defender, worse post defender) but who can also be useful on offense.
Of course, the Nets would have to be convinced that Etan is fully healthy before they pull the trigger. Etan is starting non-contact practices this week.

"Washington receives a 2008 Memphis first-round pick, protected top 19 in 2008, top 16 in 2009, top 14 from 2010-12 and top 12 in 2013."
So, this is the pick that's being discussed. That's the most protection I've seen on a pick, more than MIN's with LA, I think.
It no longer looks as appealing, although I do think it could be a 2010 pick. The Nets don't need Etan, and the Stevenson/Songaila for Magloire/Nachbar deal is no longer an option with a pick that far away.

I guess. I love AD, but am not a fan of Deshawn, even if he is Gilberts good friend.
This would of course be an offseason move.
I wouldn't be opposed to a mini "blow up".
I wouldn't be heartbroken if it didn't happen either.
Why? The Wizards aren't going to get any capspace by getting rid of those players. That makes no sense.
