Al Jefferson is a BEAST

Post#1 » by Klomp » Mon Jan 28, 2008 4:45 pm

"Al's a beast inside," Wolves rookie Corey Brewer said. "So we try to get him the ball down there."

"He dominated that game, even though we were double-teaming him," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said.

Jefferson apparently believes numbers don't lie. "It was my career high, so I guess it was the best game I ever played," he said.

It's just amazing to see someone put up those kind of dominating numbers in one season. Especially doing it under double and triple teams in the paint.

He is nasty. This is just more proof for when people come over here saying McHale handed the celts KG.

Alright Big Al!!!

No, not a beast, but a TERRORWULF!!!!!!!!

I get upset when people say he is only putting up big numbers cuz he is on a bad team. We arent even really a bad team. Just young. Eat crow Barkley!

Now I understand why a lot of Celtics fans (prior to the trade) wouldn't have traded Jefferson for Garnett straight up.

I wouldn't even trade him for KG right now, straight up.

Isnt it somewhat funny how we completely undervalued Jefferson back during the first trade talks and they did the same for KG? I find that comical. We couldnt have found a better centerpiece, at any time, and they couldnt have found a better final piece to solve the puzzle. I will always miss KG, but damn Al is easing that pain.

Dont hurt the children Al.

Wait, didn't you know, the T-Wolves only did the deal because of Danny and Kevin's backroom deal between two of the good old boys from the C's. Had nothing to do with Al Jefferson being a beast.

A few random statistical musings about Al:

There are 32 players in the league averaging at least 20.0 ppg. Of those 32, only 5 do it in less minutes than Al. (Manu, T-Mac, Boozer, Maggette, and Amare). Only four shoot a higher percentage than Al (Boozer, Howard, Yao, and Amare). But only 3 of 32 shoot worse from the line (Howard predictably, but the other two are surprisingly LeBron and T-Mac.) Only 7 of 32 shoot less free throws than Al (Boozer, Butler, Crawford, Paul, Johnson, Richardson, and Gay.)

I'm not sure Boozer's THAT underrated. He was an allstar... he is generally considered a top 3 PF.

And he has a great supporting cast. All-star Center in Okur, defensive sf in AK-47, and a stud young pg in Deron Williams.

Jefferson is averaging 7 rpg over the last 4 games (5 reb, 8 reb, 10 reb, 5 reb). That's pretty disappointing. I hope he brings his numbers back up in that category.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.
