Don't Give Up On Kidd: NJ/MeM/LAL

Post#1 » by SpeedyG » Fri Feb 1, 2008 2:06 pm

We know that LA wanted Kidd, but what about Vince? I know they've been very successful this year, but acquiring Vince might be what put them over the top, as he will take soo much load off Kobe's shoulders. Unlike most stars, Vince is also happy being the #2...which he will be in LA.

Trade ID #4456471

NJ Trades: Jason Collins, Vince Carter, Josh Boone
NJ Receives: Pau Gasol, Stromile Swift, Juan Carlos Navarro

LA Trades: Lamar Odom
LA Receives: Vince Carter

MEM Trades: Pau Gasol, Stromile Swift, Juan Carlos Navarro
MEM Receives: Lamar Odom, Josh Boone, Jason Collins

NJ Line-Up

PG: Kidd, Williams
SG: Navarro, Wright
SF: Jefferson, Wright
PF: Gasol, Swift
C: S. Williams, Krstic, Allen

NJ gives it one more run with Kidd, this time with frontcourt help in Gasol.

LA Line-up

PG: Fisher, Farmar
SG: Bryant, Vujacic
SF: Carter, Walton
PF: Brown, Radmanovic
C: Bynum, Turiaf

Risky for LA, since they get even thinner up front. But Bryant and Carter on the same lineup can be dynamic.

MEM Line-up

PG: Conley, Lowry
SG: Miller, Jacobsen
SF: Gay, Warrick
PF: Odom, Boone
C: Milicic, Boone, Brown

They get Odom for the meantime, and Boone to eventually takeover at PF (or unseat Darko at C).

Honestly I think kidd should leave.

I'm so sick of him demanding this and that being a little *itch about it.

Regarding the trade above.. I'm not sure why LAL would swap Odom for Carter.
Bynum = Future Olowokandi
Prepare to be disappointed Laker Fans.

Outsider opinion.

Why would the Grizzlies trade Gasol for Lamar Odom? Makes no sense, Gasol is 2x the player he is, about the same age and holds much stronger trade value around the league than that.

And I actually believe that if the Nets really wanted to pull off something like this, R.J would net you more than Vince at this point. Younger and cheaper are the key words here.

My view on it is that they rebuild and groom Boone to be their future starting PF, while Odom is a stop gap.

I think RJ is more valuable contract wise and age wise, but he also plays a position that is often easily filled by teams.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
