This is crazy...

Post#1 » by Suns_Fever » Sat Feb 2, 2008 5:25 am

When was the last time a conference had 7 teams that are all capable of winning the chip.

Western Conference

Phoenix
San Antonio
Dallas
Lakers
New Orleans
Utah
Denver

This are the teams that have two superstarts or more on their teams.

Eastern Conference

Detroit
Cleveland
Boston

Only 3 teams in the east that are capable of competing for a chip.

Hornets are definitely in that mix, just check their record, they have been playing lights out.

Since jazz added Korver they went on a 7 game winning streak, im not saying korver is their key man for a title, but anytime you have boozer, williams and okur means they have a chance.

Nuggets- still have ai and melo, camby, so they can easily win it all.

If Cleveland has a chance, then so does Orlando. In my opinion, the following teams are title contenders:

Boston
Detroit
Phoenix
San Antonio
Dallas
LA Laker
New Orleans

the east is even more pathetic than last year even adding KG, jrich or lewis. someone need to do something because is not fair that one of nuggets, rockets or warriors could miss the playoffs having a good record of wins.

Actually the best teams on the NBA are:
Suns
Spurs
Hornets
Mavs
Lakers
Rockets
Jazz
Warriors
Nuggets
any of these teams could get the third spot on the east and even win Celtics or Pistons, actually Pistons are not as good as they were years ago, last year we, the rockets, had more wins than them on regular season, Pistons in West are not a playoffs team, i'am sorry.

Cleveland doesn't have 2 or more superstars but I agree, James is enough for them to contend.

This is pretty pathetic. I feel bad for whoever in the West misses the post season while having a better record than the number 3 seed in the East.

New Orleans have been playing great, but I question their depth for the long haul in the playoffs... Hopefully Peja doesn't get hurt or Chandler blowing his back like he once did in Chicago... Utah is inconsistent and Denver is talented on paper, but not capable of beating the top 4 teams you mentioned in the Western bracket. The playoffs will be a doozy to watch indeed. The men are separated from the boys in a 7 game playoff series...

Arenas is talking about being ready to play March 2nd. If he comes back and doesn't take too long to return to form, I'd add the wizards to the east list.

That's because no team or player is head and shoulders above another.

who ever comes out of this conference will be remembered greatly and if they face boston in the final and win it, it will go down as the best team in history.

Nice exaggeration

It is only the start of feb, many of these teams are just pretenders and will fall off at about the allstar break.

If they win close to 70 they will and win by 11+ ppg they may have a chance.

Edit: How do you figure this? The Celtics and Lakers met in the finals in the 80's, but only the team that won it all was considered the great team. The losing team was just considered another team. That is how it works in sports.

considering there are so many packed teams that in a series it can go either way. Dallas, Phx, Spurs, Lakers,Hou, denver. Then you have Portland interestingly winning against good teams, just rollin. I don't know about Utah but its a heavy weight bout in the playoffs and there won't be much of a difference in favorite and underdogs. And you add the the big three stacked boston as a finals match up? Its pretty damn memorable year.
