Kings team direction?

Post#1 » by torsport » Mon Feb 4, 2008 2:21 pm

Just thought I'd ask the Sac town fans if they knew which way the franchise was headed?

They're pretty competitive with some young wing players, but are theyin a rebuilding mode, a couple of pieces away (trade), or build through the draft the next couple to augment their existing lineup?

Who's on the block (other than Artest), what are they looking for (cap space, picks, prospects, established players?)

We don't hear a lot about the west coast teams in TO so I thought I'd ask.

Your guess is good as ours as to the direction. If Petrie can get value for Artest and Bibby than they would be gone. If he could move KT or Reef they would be gone but most likely he is trying to package one with Ron or Mike. Probably looking for cap space, young players preferably a 1 or 4.

No one knows what Petrie is gonna do. The coach and the players are just going out there and try to win every game they can. With the deadline coming up, you might see what Petrie wants to do. Or you might have to wait til the off season to see him make some moves.

But in my opinion he will start to rebuild. He said he wanted to see what this core can do(Artest/Martin/Bibby) together. So far, Kings are 7-3 after they returned. I dont think thats enough to make a push for the playoffs. They've fallen back way too much to catch up with the West now. Petrie have to start thinking about rebuilding.

I'm not ready to conceed the season. We got our full team together, some proven players comming off the bench, and have beaten many of the best teams in the game. If we continue to play at this level or improve a tad, yes, i believe we will make the playoffs. If this does happen, we could do well. Nobody is going to want to play us, we've proven that the Kings, on a good night, can ball. Also other teams may lose a key player or two to injury.

lace em up, play ball.

Well I know what he doesn't want to do. Re-sign Ron Artest.

I don't think that's true at all. I think he would love to re-sign Ron. The issue is that we can't really afford to.

What we do know is that YOU don't want him to re-sign Artest. You've made that clear, over and over.

IMO, Artest is the best basketball player on this team and i very much enjoy watching him go about the way he plays the game.

I want to watch them win games, play good ball, make the playoffs, and give it their best shot, once there.
