The NBA will never Contract. With Las Vegas looking more and more like a "viable" market and Kansas City already having built a NBA ready facility the league can shuffle teams around to there hearts content.
The real questions is whether the NBA has become some kind of Billionaire Boys Club for owners to sell/move the teams like assets on a stock exchange.
Case and Point:
[1]Howard claims he sold to Clay because of the one year good faith negotiations with the city claim. He also said that a Silicon Valley Billionaire put in a higher offer but he would have move the team to California.
[2] I seem to remember some speculation that clay had to overpay for the Sonics because of the exact lease agreement they are fighting over in court today. Some thought the fact that the lease ended in 2010 made the sonics attractive because they could leave town at its expiration.
If Heisley made this horrible trade in order to get out from under a superstars contract to make the team attractive to another Billionaire with sights on moving the Grizzlies to their town then I am finished watching the NBA.
