Stephen A Smith "Magic Least Professional"
i was listening to Sports Nation or whatever it is on XM, they had a list of top NBA teams with the most talent that arent headed far. SAS went down the list which included Atlanta, Miami, NY, CHA and NJ and Orlando which was his #1 selection. He said we have no leader, No PG, no focus, no front office involvement and no scouts. he said that we may do better than the other teams listed over the next 5 years, but we will be the biggest disappointment because we have so much talent and another star will fall from the sky (Dwight) unless something happens quick.
he said we have the biggest group of guys he has ever seen that will not respond to a good coach. he said you always see guys refusing to listen to a bad coach, but not a good coach.
so he said we were out of sync and not professional enough to make it very far as of today...

I wonder where he is getting the idea that the players aren't listening/responding to SVG? I have no idea about the scouts, focus, front office, etc. The point guard situation he has a point on.

SAS is right, sadly, but true....thEthIEf wrote:i was listening to Sports Nation or whatever it is on XM, they had a list of top NBA teams with the most talent that arent headed far. Chalk Stephen A. Smith up with Skip Bayless as ESPN commentators who I could go without ever hearing again.
They just talk, and talk loud. I guess assuming that if they act bold it will cover up the fact that 90% of the time they have no idea what they are talking about.
Go doodle some sketches of hearts and your boy Allen Iverson.
Speaking of doodles... I've got some Cheese Doodles, if you'll shut your trap.

If we go 19-14 the rest of the way....with a much easier schedule than we had the first half....we are a 50 win team. I think we are doing OK for ourselves...those who are realistic Magic fans were not expecting a title this year. 50 Wins & a visit to the 2nd Round where we would likely play Detroit and lose is not a horrible place to start with a new coach, new system, and a young core.(hopefully that is, it is what I think will happen).

I dont think you guys take into consideration how loud SAS says things. That is very important. BTW Mashburn and the other bald guy on NBA Coast to Coast (ESPN2) just answered an eMail question, "do the MAGIC have a chance to get to the ECFinals." I thought they were going to laugh when they said "NO WAY". Both blamed our PG position.

I disagree completely. We're a much better team this year, and it's a new system with a new coach and a pretty young team (though we're not as young as some think we are).
Do we have our problems? Yes. But i'm not going to say "Oh well i guess those problems can't be fixed! Too bad, such great talent! Oh well!"
A year of chemistry does wonders. A year to assess how this team worked in this system and to figure out just what needs the most addressing does wonders.
I'll wait until say...after next season before I decide whether the Magic are heading nowhere.

SAS is a moron who has prolly seen about as many Magic games this year as ESPN has aired. He is one of those guys who just likes to make sensationalistic statements. Some of what he said was true, but the vast majority was wrong. What else is new. If it were up to SAS, Iverson would still be in Philly thriving in mediocrity. Why anyone puts any stock in what this dude says is beyond me.

What good do us to win 50 games, and get our a$$ kick during the playoffs? This team has too many flaws, to make some real noise in the postseason, I said it already a bunch of times, but after the playoffs this year, A lot of people HERE, will be very dissapointed, hope I'm wrong, but that is my opinion.
