I think we'd rather see what we can do with our pick (which almost certainly wont be a top-10 pick), then look ahead to the summer of 2009 and see if there's gonna be a FA who fills our needs good enough, that we should package Miles with goods in order to clear more capspace...right now, it's only Gordon, assuming he does become an UFA like he plans to - you never know. Anyway, Gordon is good but we can do better in terms of defense, and he'll be pretty overpaid.
Right now I'm willing to package Miles with Jack for a 2009 expiring, only because I think we gotta move Jack, the sooner the better.

Last night i had a dream Miles came back and put up a very nice statline. I remember it so vividly. 9/15 shooting, like 3/4 behind the arc. 5 ast 6 reb. Of course i was also playing in the game, so my dream losing credibility.
Honestly though, i wanna see him play 1st. Now that Jones is out i wouldnt mind seeing Miles get some burn.

I want to dump Miles, but I think a buyout would be better. A lot of people talk about cutting Green in the future to make roster space. The idea of getting rid of a nice young guy like Green (albeit, a guy with probably little in the way of an NBA future) while keeping a waste of air like Miles makes me sick.

Well, the idea of not buying out Miles is that it would still make his contract count against our cap. Maybe next season he'll be more movable.

Assuming either Nate doesn't want Miles or he can't play anymore, you would need to make that a 2009 1st round pick and add a 2009 2nd round pick to what you're giving.

I'm indifferent to this deal. While the Blazers would offload Miles's contract, that 1st round pick could yield us a decent player that would fit our system and become a part of our future. It's a decent proposal but I say no. I would, however, go with Telfaire's suggestion, but I think the Blazers may have to add something to sweeten that deal.
