Daily Papers - Feb 15th, 2008

Post#1 » by MjM2xTreMe » Fri Feb 15, 2008 2:56 pm

I didn't see the daily papers so I thought I'd give it a shot. Sorry if you're on the verge of making it SS/CHB.

Journeyman Moon finally gets his due

"I went to some teams, man, when I got there, they were like, `We'll pay you $400 a week.' And they couldn't even pay you $400 a week," Moon was saying the other day. "The owner would call you, `The money will be here next Friday, so if you would, would you just stay and play until next Friday, because we promise the money will be there.' The money was never there. Never. There's so many teams I had to leave for financial reasons, man.

"That's why I don't understand why people complain in the NBA. People complain like they're not making enough money. Come on, man. If they just went through a month in the minor leagues ..."

He isn't taking

Nash now a trash walker

Nike says it is the first performance basketball shoe made from manufacturing waste. The shoes will retail for $100 (U.S.).

"I had nothing to with the price point," said Nash, "but I was definitely supportive about reusing."

Will Moon shine?

Moon has kept his dunking game plan under close wraps in the leadup to tomorrow, but given his penchant for elevation, fans might be in store for a show worthy of a Carter, Jordan or Wilkins.

Bosh relaxing in the Big Easy

It seems the only time opponents have any chance of slowing down the power forward is when Bosh nurses some kind of ailment.

He banged a knee in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, but Bosh came back to ignite a Raptors rally that fell short.

More like "she IS the sun". Is it just me or does it look like there's a halo around her?

Thanks for the papers.

I didn't see this one though:

http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/303804

Raptors gaining rapidly with TV viewers

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors are experiencing double-digit increases even though the team's record is no better than it was at this time last year.

We're talking some pretty impressive increases here: up 51 per cent on Sportsnet (165,000 average), 28 per cent on The Score (120,000) and 6 per cent on TSN (158,000). And though the accuracy of digital ratings is somewhat suspect, Raptors NBA TV has seen its average audiences (68,000) almost triple.

Overall, ratings are up 34 per cent, marking the second successive season of double-digit increases.

Thanks for the papers.

That's very good news about the ratings, let's hope they continue to increase as the team makes it deeper into the playoffs every year.
