It's crazy how much people are in love with Colangelo because he fielded one playoff team which exited in the first round. Sure, when you compare it to the Leafs situation, he's done a damn good job but to invite him to manage both clubs and pretend like he's the savior who's just lying their in the shadows is a bit much.

Yeah, because Colangelo just appeared here in Toronto and hasn't previously won Executive of the Year in Phoenix after building a team that's been a perennial contender.

How many championships does Phoenix have? How about NBA Finals appearances? Exactly. The article's comparing Colangelo to Lou Lamoriello which is insane because Lou's done the double and has won a few Stanley Cups as opposed to BC who's currently being shut out. And the Raps are nowhere close to being a championship threat. I mean, Glen Grunwald was close to winning Exec of the Year one year but that doesn't mean you should hand him the MLSE president job.

I think BC's doing a good job of rebuilding but that does not mean he should be put on some pedestal just yet.

How many years had he had here to build a championship team? Had he not stayed in Phoenix you don't think they would have eventually won one? Comparing GG to BC is ridiculous, compare their resumes, like the previous poster mentioned BC was highly praised and accomplished before he got here; it

No one's talking pedestals. I think you're taking this further in your own head than the article is.

What's wrong with a team that's having major struggles pining for a very obviously competent GM/CEO with an established history of bringing an exciting, profitable, winning product to every place he goes?

WTF? Of course comparing BC to GG is ridiculous. Since Scrapdoomfraud brought up the Exec of Year as some sort of proof, I thought GG was a decent counterexample.

As for "Had he not stayed in Phoenix you don't think they would have eventually won one?". You have no way of knowing that and neither do I so let's not speculate and just look at the results in Phoenix as opposed to "what could've been"

I understand he's deserving of some praise (I thought I made that clear) but to anoint him as a savior for multiple franchises is a bit early until he proves that he has what it takes to win a title, which he hasn't done yet!

Then why did you even bother comparing the two? You don
