Here's the excerpt from the actual article:

If Bryan Colangelo is looking to make a minor move ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, he's got an underused guard who'd welcome it.

Juan Dixon, who has become little more than a spare part on the Raptors this season, would be open to a deal, a league source said last night.

Dixon is in the final year of a contract that pays him about $3 million this season and his diminished role in Toronto could make him less marketable as a free agent this summer.

A chance to go somewhere and be productive

They didn't need an excuse. I'm pretty sure BC is just waiting for the best deal to come along before he pulls the trigger.

I can't say I blame him, he used to get a lot of time in Portland, even last year here. He's a good player, I hope he goes to a team that can use him well.

Its funny ... there are a lot of marginal players around the NBA that want a trade, or out of the current situation. Dixon would have a much better argument for playing time if he was productive at all when he was in.

He would be a good addition to a playoff team. He's an expiring contract and a good scorer off the bench that has played decently in the postseason in the past, including a few big games with the Wizards.

Dixon wants out? Good. I'd trade him for a couple of Gatorade towels.

It's funny people keep saying this: We don't want to take back salary beyond this year in a trade. It's just as likely we will let his contract expire. We're going to be close to the luxury tax next year if we sign both Calderon and Delfino, use our first round draft choice and bring over Ukic (or use a bit to shore up the frontcourt with a banger-type big man.)

I really don't expect us to do much by this trade deadline, but rather tinker, or do nothing. If we can swap expiring contracts, Dixon for another guy who will be a free agent, I can see us doing so. But don't expect much at all.

Sounds like the playoffs are no longer a lock.

Trade him for two second round draft picks and bring someone up from the D-League that won't complain.

^ come on now. It's understandable. If he wants a contract next year he needs to showcase himself, and he's not exactly in the ideal role here. It's business, and he's got his priorities right. Hopefully BC can do something that helps everyone.

We don't need any marginal players that might prevent us from resigning Jose and possibly Delfino. Let him expire.

Dixon has not publicly stated anything.

If he wants out, I don't blame him and it's not even a surprise.

I disagree, Dixon has never had a fair chance this season. It's not his fault, he's had solid games. Dixon is a streak player, he needs consistency to perform and he's proven in this league that he is a good bench player. He scores and gives effort.

I hope we trade him to a team that can use him, he would be a great addition to any play-off team looking for some scoring off the bench.

We could trade him to Cleveland for Ira Newble or Cedric Simmons, Newble or Simmons could help on the boards, they're grit players. Dallas could also use him esp, if they don't get Kidd. We can trade Dixon for Diop or Brandon Bass. San Antonio for maybe Udoka, he's being severely underused there. Golden State for Peitrus or O'Bryant.

He has a small contract and its expiring, I would love to see us get a guy who's also expiring but we can test out at our different needs

What can u trade him for ... it should be obviously he wants out, b/c he is looking to sign a contract in the summer, and wants mins

But ... what CAN u trade him for, he is just an expiring contract.

-You can get, another expiring contract for him (hopefully a big man)... but trading and finding a 3million dollar big man expiring is prolly not gonna happen.
-recieving back a higher longterm salary, doesnt seem likely from Toronto
-recieving a future asset (2nd round pick) wont happen

Most likely all we can get for him alone, is another player exactly in his situation... and why would we do that

I think he needs to be packaged, to make a deal happen, but then it becomes a bigger trade and the premises above might not apply

you can assume that this story was written due to an off-the-record comment Dixon made to a Toronto reporter.

players often do this to get their agenda advanced.

and if "Dixon wants Out' is the biggest issue facing the Raptors, we are fine. let's hope that he takes D-mart along with him for the ride
