Me and my friend are at school, and we're bored out of our minds. We decided to do some made up trades on the trade machine. I made a trade of Charlie Villanueva for David Lee and Renaldo Balkman. He said it was a horrible trade for us, and said David Lee and Renaldo Balkman wouldn't add anything more to our team than Charlie Villanueva does now. Would you guys do this trade? and do you think my friend is completely wrong on this? or am I just crazy?

Most here will say your friend is crazy. I think it's a tough question. It all depends on what you think Charlie V could do if made a full-time starter with the support of his coach and organization. It won't happen here, but it might not be the worst idea in the world to let Charlie V get 30 minutes a night the rest of the way to showcase him. I think, come draft day, his value would be high enough to expect more than a David Lee-type return.

I like Lee a lot but I think he's one of those guys that gets underrated for so long that he eventually becomes overrated. The fact that he's one of the few Knicks that doesn't suck makes him look all the better. He's a great hustle player and rebounder. He plays within himself and he's probably a guy you love to have on your roster. But if Charlie had been a starter from Day 1 back in October, I think expect more for his services.

You're crazy for thinking that NY would trade Balkman or Lee straight up for CV and your friend is crazy for not thinking either of those guys would be an upgrade over CV...

Oh I know already that CV for both Lee and Balkman is not going to happen. I just wanted to make the point to my friend that he doesn't know anything about the value of NBA players. He basically said David Lee sucks and he'd take CV over him anyday. I think thats just wrong!
