Name your Price for Miller going to Cleveland

Post#1 » by CinciSixersFan » Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:02 pm

It's been well established that Bron-Bron is not happy with the lack of movement from the Cavs front office. So here we are, just about 48 hours prior to the deadline and they are desperate.

While we all know they have limited assets, the Sixers may have the the object of their desire in Andre Miller. So my question is, could Ed help the Cavs out in their time of need, raid their cabinet, and get them to overpay for Miller at the deadline?

In your estimation, is there a deal out there with Cleveland that you would make to trade Miller, and if so what is it?

lebron james and an unprotected pick in 2020

in honesty...they have nothing i want...it would have to be a 3 way deal with presumably someone getting gooden and a pick and us getting back expirings and a good prospect...i have no idea who will give up a good enough prospect and expirings for gooden to us

the only plausable scenario id be interested in would be possibly stockpiling picks in future years from the cavs when they MIGHT not have lebron james any more...like unprotected picks in 2011 or 2012...dont forget thats how we got barkley

I agree a 3-way would probably be the way to go here.

But I would consider a package with Gibson, Newble (expiring), and either Gooden/Sideshow Bob. We could give them Shav and/or Amundsen back too.

Now that we have your attention Sixersfan, are there any new developments today?

Possibly anything for Wilcox or Villanueva?

what a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) post. Do you wanna make a deal just to make deal? Where would we replace a top 7 NBA point guard? Cleveland cant make a deal, because they have nothing to give. Ferry did a fine job a few years back insuring this with giving away the bank to Hughes and Donyell. Now they are paying the price for it. Let them rot, while we need to add pieces to our core of dre, thad, andre, sam, etc..

ps-mark my words..we end up giving Dre Miller an extension this summer..

Cleveland has nothing to offer plus why drag in the clueless Sixersfan we all know he is full of it.

I don't think the Sixers have to trade Miller, so they can afford to be a little more demanding than they'd be otherwise. Given that Cleveland doesn't have attractive expiring contracts or prospects to throw into a deal, I'd think they'd have to cough up at least 2 decent first round picks to get a deal done.

To me, this seems like about the best package Cleveland would be willing to put together.

Eric Snow (one year left after this year. would be a good mentor to Louis Williams)
Ira Newble (a smaller expiring contract)
one unprotected first
one lottery-protected first

Even then, I'm not sure that's necessarily enough for Ed, but I think it's worth discussing.

If Ed thinks that Brand or somebody like that is available, then he shouldn't trade Miller IMO.

A move that gets the Sixers an unprotected Cavs pick in a possible post-LeBron era could be shrewd as hell and shouldn't be dismissed.

EDIT: And I don't know if that would be on the table, but I'm just tossing that out there for discussion purposes.

im not sayin we should trade miller, especially for any package cleveland can put together but i would love to see a trade that nets us an unprotected pick down the line...

those are the kind of trades teams dont make bc the gm is afraid he wont be here and it wont help him now but its high risk/high reward...guess right and lebron leaves cleveland, that pick could look very good in 4 years...guess wrong, nd its another mid to low pick...

i wouldnt do it for miller, wouldve prob tried to do it with korver tho...
