OT: Yao Done for the Season

Post#1 » by KingRobb02 » Tue Feb 26, 2008 6:26 pm

ESPN.com wrote:KRIV-TV in Houston and The Houston Chronicle are reporting that Yao has a stress fracture in his left foot and the Rockets are expected to announce he will have season-ending surgery later Tuesday.

Houston, currently on a 12-game winning streak, is in fourth place in the Southwest Division. The streak followed a loss in the one game that Yao has missed all season.

Yao is averaging 22.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in 55 games this season.

1. if this is not an untimely april fool's day, poor houston.
2. and denver and golden state will be both in the playoffs.
only 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists shy of yet another triple double - anonymous

Really big guy with a really big frame. He is bound to have problems with his wheels the rest of his life. Tough break for the Rockets again. T-Mac is playing better since he came back this last time but he is very injury prone as well...as we are all VERY aware of. It's not likely he will finish the season either given his history. At least their newbies will be gettings lots of playing time.

Thats just horrible news for Hou. Their season goes down the tube. Tmac will stay a second round virgin once again.

Wow that really sucks for Houston. I just think if TMac had a little patience he would be playing along side Dwight right now in his home town. He would probally have a better chance at making it out of the second round in the east than he does in the west.

it's like you can basically start placing wagers on the teams demise right after they start lighting up...something happens every season...

I love how all news about Houston makes it here.

We're not all still thinking about Tmac or anything.

I like Yao. Seems like such a nice guy. Houston may still make the playoffs, but they have no chance to go anywhere without Yao.

He needs to get out of the first round before anything.

That sucks... He's on one of my fantasy teams... What's the over/under on T-Mac's back "acting up" 3 games, 5 games, a 4 game losing streak???

Wow, what a blow. Put a fork in them because they are done now. I have to admit that this news makes me a little happy that Tmac won't advance farther in the playoffs before we do though. No knock on Yao however, I wish him well. He's a great player with an attitude to match. The Houston board must be in hysterics today.

12 game winning streak.....for what. If Houston didn't have bad luck, they'd have no luck at all.

Iggyemu?

He doesn't post on this forum anymore. He's a poster elsewhere now: same place Lucky and I went to as well (Lucky is still there).
