Bulls restructures roster to focus on youth

Post#1 » by JimmyBulls » Thu Feb 28, 2008 9:07 pm

This is a deal I thought about while on the dumper.

Bulls aquire Marbury, Curry, Chandler and future 2nd rounder

Knicks aquire Noce, Hughes, Gooden and Simmons

By trading for Marbury the Bulls can work on a buyout if Marbury would agree to leave 5 million on the table, if not he could be a one year backup point guard. The Bulls would re-aquire Curry because he can give the team much needed balance and Curry/Noah could be a throwback to Curry/Chandler. Wilson Chandler woud just be a young developing backup for Loul Deng.

By trading for Noce the Knicks get a tough small forward that brings a element of team to a roster of ME guys. Hughes would be a nice player to pair with Crawford in the backcourt. While Gooden can be the first big off the bench backing up Randolph and Lee.

ouch...as a bulls fan i would not touch that deal. Curry is in the doghouse, Marbury could very well be bought out cause he isn't liked by the knicks anymore. the bulls give up a ton of value for those two. Hughes is plaing quite well and would duplicate Crawford for the knicks. Gooden is servicable and Nocioni a good player tough overpaid. Nontheless they have way more value than what the knicks would give up.

BTW with the history the bulls have with Curry, I can't see them taking another chance on him especially not at that price...

I think this would be one of the rare occasions that David Stern would veto a deal.....

When I looked at all the players, the most valuable piece has got to be Marbury's contract that is expiring after next season. When I look at Noce, Hughes, and Gooden I see a whole lot of nothing that will result in alot of losing and money being wasted. So the Bulls should get Marbury's contract and try to save money in a buyout.

As I state in every Eddy Curry to the Bulls thread, Curry will never play for Paxson's Bulls again unless he submits to the DNA test that forced his trade in the first place.

Curry's heart problem is a thing of the past. He was cleared not only by the Knicks medical staff, but NBA medical staff as well.

That situation has changed a bit. ICLO, it's pretty clear that what was causing the heart murmur was the ephedra Eddy loaded up on to lose weight before his contract year. Nonetheless, Paxson also probably wouldn't want Eddy back cause he's not a good basketball player. Why do we need him when we have Aaron Gray?... no joke.

This deal wreaks of awfulness for the Bulls. Wilson Chandler is probably the best piece we're getting back and he'd be pegged as a backup backup small forward (to Deng and Sefolosha). If we're interested in saving money only, Cliff Levingston would just find a taker for Nocioni, Hughes or Gooden for primarily an expiring contract or a trade exception.
