Houston will probably win but I think there's a slight chance of an upset.

Utah and NO will be a good game and could go either way, but I expect NO to pull it out because they're playing at home.

GS will most likely win especially because the Sixers are pretty bad on the road. I'm actually torn on who I want to win. I'm one of the few left that would like the Sixers to lose and get a good pick instead of go for the playoffs, but it doesn't seem like that is going to happen. I guess win-win for me.

Btw, great idea for a thread.

The Suns lost today and are only 3 losses ahead of the Nuggets. They are 2-4 since the Shaq trade and may have the toughest schedule the rest of the way. There is a good chance they may even fall off. Most importantly though, the Nuggets still have 3 games left against them. Many big games coming up the rest of the way.

The more i think about it the more i think that shaq trade is horrible for the suns, if we catch them and they end up missing the playoffs they would look like a bunch of idiots for ever thinking a washed up shaq can lift them over that hump and win the championship. There's still alot of games to be played though so the finishing of the season should be fun.

Tomorow game against the rockets is huge they better win that game and put an end to their streak and hope the jazz keep sliping and we end up winning the division, i think our only chances of advancing is to get that 4th seed and hope we don't draw the spurs in the first round.

Dallas (4-3 since the trade) lost to the Lakers putting them only two games ahead of Denver in the loss column. Dallas' next two games are against the Jazz and then Houston. Both win-win situations for Denver. If Denver can keep winning, they'll inch closer either way, and even if they lose (not including todays game), they won't lose too much ground from someone.

With a win over the suns and the warriors loss against the bobcats were now only 1 game back from the 8th seed.

The suns and jazz play on friday so i don't know who im rooting for to win, probably the suns since a jazz loss will move us closer to them for the division.

By the way, how come nobody seem to be interested in this thread, the playoff race is heating up and yet nobody seems to be discussing anything here beside myself and no one.

I think we should sticky this thread(if a mod doesn't mind and feel like this thread isn't useless).

It all depends on how greedy you are. If you aren't greedy and just want to make the playoffs at any cost, you root for the Jazz to win because they're the better team with an easier schedule (than the Suns). Therefore, it'll be easier to beat the Suns out than the Jazz. If you're greedy, you see you're only 2 losses behind with 2 games left against them and you root for the Jazz to lose at it'll get you closer to the division win. But if you don't get the division, it's possible that this one game the Suns win could be the difference between Denver making the playoffs and not.

Logic says to root for the Jazz. Make the playoffs at any cost and if you get the division, then that's icing. Either way it's a win-win situation.

I wouldn't look over the Houston-Dallas game tonight either. Definitely want Houston to win because they probably have the easiest schedule left of the playoff teams, they're on a roll, plus they're up by 4 games, whereas Dallas is only up 2.5 games (2 in the loss column). Dallas is also without Nowitzki tonight.

By the way, how come nobody seem to be interested in this thread, the playoff race is heating up and yet nobody seems to be discussing anything here beside myself and no one.

I think everybody is waiting for this 5 game stretch to be over to see where the Nuggets stand. After the second SA game, the Nuggets have 8 very winnable games. Only teams above .500 are @ Detroit, home against Toronto, and @ Toronto. Going any less than 6-2 in that stretch is unacceptable and could decide the playoffs for Denver.

During that stretch Dallas has games against the Lakers, SA, and Boston.
Phoenix has games against GS, @Portland, Houston, @Detroit, @Boston.
GS has games against Toronto, @Phoenix, Houston, @Lakers, Lakers.
Utah has games against Toronto, @Boston, Lakers.

Denver has a tough schedule now, but by far has the easiest schedule during that 7-8 game stretch. There is almost no excuse for them not to have a playoff spot by then. If they don't, it's possible they miss out. But expect the playoff watch to start sometime during that stretch.

Go Indiana! Wear the Spurs down.

Who should lose tonight, Dallas or Houston? Dallas loses, we're one game out of 7th and 8th place. Houston loses, we don't know where they'll go but at least come down to earth a little.

Dallas lost to the rockets, now there only 2 games ahead of the nuggets, with their current play we might catch them and go ahead of them.

Rockets are red hot, i wonder when their streak will end and see if they'll start coming back down to earth, i want to see how they will respond after a loss.

I guess im going with being greedy and root for the suns, i wouldn't want the nuggets to match up with the spurs or lakers, so winning the division and matching up with the 5th seed might mean they have a better shot to advance, i know at this point getting in the playoffs is the goal but if it's one and out again is it worth it just to get there or stay out and force management to make a change to the roster and the coaching staff?.

IMO, winning the division should be their biggest goal, and if you can't then i guess you have to try and get into the playoffs.

Dallas is one loss ahead of the Nuggets, but their next 4 games are easy games at home which makes it that much more important that the Nuggets win at least 2 of the next 3. They need to keep it close.

Who cares about the Rockets. They're in. If they lose, they'll bounce back pretty easily due to their cake schedule.

IMO, winning the division should be their biggest goal, and if you can't then i guess you have to try and get into the playoffs.

I'll be rooting for the Jazz. I'm of the mindset that just make the playoffs and anything can happen from there. But I'm with you on the Spurs and Lakers. Easily the worst matchups for Denver followed by New Orleans.

Honestly, I would love it if the matchups mixed up a little bit and we end up playing the Spurs in say....the WCF. We know what level of team they are and it would be nice to try to surmount those odds early for the first time, but that is going to be a huge series if and when it happens and needs to be in a higher bracket.

As long as the 'other' team we draw doesn't pull a Clippers on us and waste an advance at our expense.

You have to take all these contenders seriously, regardless of where the records end up.

Utah beat phoenix and the warriors pounded the wadeless heat, the game tomorow vs the jazz is gonna be huge, i hope we win.

Were only 1 game back from the warriors and 1/12 behing the suns and only 2 back on dallas, if teams like the suns and dallas continue to struggle, there's a good chance we catch all 3 of them, just got to continue to win.

Return to Denver Nuggets
