Post#1 » by KRANG » Sun Mar 2, 2008 4:42 am

I can't believe I'm even typing this right now but I don't think the Suns are going to make the playoffs. Here's a couple of reasos.

They play some tough teams coming up.

They are only 3 losses of being out of the playoffs right now.

The west is soooooo tight.

They are on an emotional rollarcoaster right now, and its going down.

Shaq's done.

Their chemistry is out the window.

Shaq hasn't been playing bad ball IMO.

Ya your right, he hasn't been horrible. But Marion would be better.

They'll make the playoffs, but the Shaq/Marion trade is proving to everyone who doubted just how bad it initially was, how bad it really is.

It's not so much that Shaq hasn't been playing "decent", because he's done alright (nothing good, but nothing bad either). But the thing that made the Suns the Suns, and the thing that kept their defense from being embarrassingly bad is now gone. Now, the opposing team's best G/F is going to dominate on a nightly basis because Marion isn't there to keep them in check.

It's a shame but a predictable shame, IMHO.

Shaq was well on his way to missing the playoffs if he didn't get traded.

They won't miss the playoffs. Even if they just play .500 ball for the rest of the season, they'll still have over 50 wins for the season, which should get them into the playoffs.

However, the Shaq deal is not looking like a great trade right about now... Their great chemistry is certainly not what it once was.

Kerr gave up longevity for a chance to win like in a Russia Roulette...

Except that its possible that a 50 win team is not going to make the playoffs. Look at the standings. They're only 3 losses right now out of being out of the playoffs. I think they'll have to play much better than .500 ball.

They'll make it. The team that is in trouble is Denver IMO.

Yeah i think so too. How a team that has the DPOY can be so completely abysmal at defense is amazing. They are really, really pathetic at D. I'm talking about as bad as the Knicks. And the Knicks don't have the DPOY either.

When you only have 1 player on your team playing defense, the team is going to struggle, regardless of how good that 1 player is on D.

Yeah but they also got Kmart who plays D.

Just that both their franchise players fall asleep once the other team gets the ball

At this point they will miss it, losing to the Sixers at home the ship is sinking. I must say, if they do miss it I guarantee Kerr will be run out of town on Shaq's back.

That's a bold move.

But I can understand why you would make an assumption like this.
