I know this sounds terrible, but considering our recent past of overconfidence, I wouldn't be super disappointed with a loss in this game. I obviously am going to be rooting like crazy for us to win, but I feel like a loss here would improve the team, as strange as that sounds.

Eh.

Its later in the season, catching them would suprise me, so recordwise Im not really sure how significant it is.

And we've proven we CAN beat them.

Of course its a big game, but somehow it the magnitude of it feels lost on me.

Hard pressed to exactly explain why, but I feel like my emotional investment was much stronger in the other two. Maybe its that I feel the team has as good a feel for the Celts and how much of a challenge its gonna be to get past them as theyre gonna get.

Or maybe Im just clueless....

WEDNESDAY
PISTONS-CELTICS:
7:30 p.m. on Channel 20.
It's only a regular-season meeting, but it is the top two teams in the East and it is their rubber game -- each won the previous two on the road.

It is significant. But regardless of whether we win or lose, we need to play good. The game gains significance if one side blkows the other out. It also becomes significant if someone breaks out. We know our core is fine and so is their core, but if Rondo/Baby Shaq/Amir/Stuckey have significant games, it makes future strategies a bit more fluid.

I'm bummed because I will be in meetings somewher in the middle of China so I will not be watching it live. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope we play well.

Note to original poster: Scalabrine is not injured - we just don't use him anymore. Which is a good thing.

Actually, that might be your advantage. We are known to play under our average when resting for more than 1 day.

By the way, I think Cassell is going to play in this game. Brown should already play against Atlanta.

Starting the game thread a full 4 days in advance. WOW. I'm flattered and also have tickets to the game. Cleveland fans are pissed all they have been saying is BOS and DET are overrated. We beat DET last year with less talent. On, and on, and on.

LOL nasty, scarred for life. :(

I post on the Boston board now and then without issue. Just don't act like a troll and it will be fine, I promise.

You guys should be able to come over to the board and say whatever you want. Only because the teams are pretty equal. I don't want to hear this trash from TOR fans. The team aren't close to being equal.

Your team gives your the right to talk ****. So go ahead and do it.

Just no one else feels that way. I don't know why of course.

There was a good thread about starting a 'Smack Talk Thread' over on your Celtic's board. I was all for it and still am.

In fact I think we shold sticky a 'Smack Talk Thread' on our board. Dibs on OP if we get a majority in favor. Hell I'll start a poll.

They said on CSN NE Cassell will go through a practice on Tuesday and will play on Wednesday. About Brown I'm not so sure, he might play in this game.

To be fair the TOS mentions trolling but...

I was hoping it would be more of a creative smack talk/heckler type thread ala Sheed and his many fans *cough, cough*.

I can understand their reluctance as it could end up being more work than it is worth if trolls start running rampant. A couple other teams have threads along this line but to each his own. :(

I will try somehting of that nature. I know they are just so afraid of anything that is even slightly out there. They always lock the thread quickly.
