Lets see how the new starting lineup works

The 76ers may be a hot team lately, but I still never favored the starting 5. I favored putting Iggy at 2 guard to bring more size in the backcourt with idea of creating mismatches for the opposition.

The Bulls and the Lakers could have played Jordan and Magic Johnson regularly at SF, but why do that when size matches can be created in the backcourt. It's not just easier to score, but the entre passes are much easier with a smaller player guarding you.

The 76ers have not had a serious mismatch since Moses was playing center for the 76ers. If Iggy goes to the backcourt he should be able to chew up the opposition. You put Thad at SF and Evans at PF with Big Sam at center. If it was 3 months ago, I probably would have started Smith at PF and have Evans come off the bench, but Smith has played lousy in his rookie season. I do not want a 7ft jump shooter starting at PF. Smith has a lot of work to do over the summer.

Rodney Carney must be ready to some off the bench to play SF and the 2 guard. The more versatility he shows, the more minutes he will log.Lou Williams should see the usual minutes backing up Miller.

Now matter how you break the 76ers down, the 76ers are more than 1 player away from being a solid team.Ed Stefansky can scout all he wants, but if one of his 3 players that he targets is gobbbled up at 16 or 17, then what will he do?

I was watching a game last year with the Clipppers playing the Warriors. I saw Elton Brand block 3 shots of Monte Ellis in the 4th quarter. In fact Brand blocked 5 shots in the 2nd half.

If Brand is healthy and the Clippers do not match,we can not let Miami beat us to the punch. Our goals should be adding 3 contributing players to our roster for next season.

For those of you who want the 76ers to make the playoffs, more power to you. I prefer a higher draft pick with long term goals involved.

It will be unaccetable to me if Stefansky says, we would have liked to draft a player earlier in the draft, but the situation did not allow it. The 76ers are going to have some fun now, but what is the point if Detriot or Boston beat us in 5. What is the point if Orlando beats us in 6?

How many years of winning did Minnesota have before they realized this is not going to work any more? Minnesota never won a playoff series. I wrote a story over a month ago on another website that Miami would shut down Wade with 20 games left, and that's exactly what happened. Now Riley waits on the ping pong balls to see if Beasley goes to Miami. Miami made it so easy up till now. Only devine intervention can stop the Miami Heat con game.
