Quirky Fact for you guys

Post#1 » by abarl » Wed Mar 12, 2008 8:47 pm

Kobe has 551 games of 20+ points and 255 games of 30+ points

Does anyone know of a link showing all time leaders in these stats?

Kobe wont break that. MJ was a ball hog in his earlier days.

That said, what is the career assist comparison? Kinda a "what if", thinking about if Jordan didn't take those years off for baseball and after the 2nd 3peat.

by comparison MJ has 565 30+ point regular season games.

Im not sure where Kobe or MJ rank on a list of all time 30+ point games. Im sure Wilt dominates this stat.

ive always been wondering about these statistics and how they are calculated. is it just 30+ or is it really 30=<x<40?

in simpler terms, do the games where kobe scored 40+, 50+, 60+, 81 count towards the number of 30+ point games?

thats quirky....(sarcasm)

And to think he we are comparing a guy who is retired to a guy who is only 29 and has a lot of basketball left.

I used MJ as a measuring stick because i found a site that broke down his scoring. He is a solid measuring stick since its probable that he is near the top of the list for a stat like this. Plus i always wondered about it since we always here about how many 40,50,60pt games kobe has.....anyways..i thought my laker friends would like to know....

well wouldnt the better comparison be MJ's 30 point games vs. Kobes at his point in his career?

EDIT: To be clear... comparisons shouldnt be made with active and non-active players. Kobe has plenty of ball left. So, show me the number of 30 point games vs. Kobe either games played or age. Its just seems like a flawed fact when one players career is far from done.

that would make Kobe look too good though. The key to quirky is to make Kobe look like he can't hold MJ's jock, that is a quirky and fun and exciting.

Im not sure why you guys are trying to turn this into something it isnt.........

We know where Kobe stands in terms of 40 point, 50 point, and 60 point games relative to others as this info is told to us everytime kobe drops one of those games. I was always curious myself where Kobe stands on the list of 30+ point games but i had a difficult time finding out. I just happened to stumbe upon a MJ breakdown of his scoring ( I was actually looking for a list of active and non-active players)

The reason i brought up a comparison with MJ was because I am assuming he is near the top end of the list of ppl with 30+ point games (if u guys have a complete list please do tell)....was i wrong in this assumption miles since your so smart?

To Phil 2.0

I shouldnt have used the word comparison since its obviously a sensitive issue with ppl here....it was more curiousity that i had....and MJ was the only guy that i found a scoring breakdown.....we obviously know Kobe will have plenty more 30 point games this is bvious but i thought u guys being LA fans like me may like to know where kobe stands @ this point relative to someone who i assume is near the top......im betting Wilt is @ the top...with Malone, KAJ.....but i cant find a list....

I am not turning anything into....anything. Its unreasonable to make a comparison of a player who is retired vs. a player who is still in the prime of his career... and stat-wise more than anything. So the fact is not really a fact its a flawed comparison.

I just asked you to provide a number that MJ had in terms of 30 point careers based on where Kobe is now in his career.

This seems logical to me.

Phil 2.0

The smart comment was not directed towards you but rather the other mod.

While i would love to find out how they compare at the same age in terms of 30 point games that would require more effort then iam willing to do @ this point.

Its simple....i was curious about where Kobe stands amongst other greats who i assume are near the top....i could only find MJ's ( if u can find others feel free to post.)

I didnt actually find a link for Kobes but rather counted his game logs quickly.....

Obviously Kobe is going to continue to add to this total......

I am also curious where Kobe would rank currently on this 30 point list.... since we know where he ranks on the other lists....

Just another fact for you....Kobe had 56 games of 30+ point ins 05/06

All I care about is when Kobe finishes with more rings than Jordan. That should end ALL arguments.
