POG LA Clippers @ Mavs

Post#1 » by your_dallas_mavericks » Tue Mar 25, 2008 1:40 pm

Who will be the player of the game?

It must be a Mavs player.

The player must play in the game.

Oh man, here we go sans Dirk...

Edit: Puncuation because I care...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I want the POG to be Bass. He needs a total dominance game. The kind of game that makes New Orleans wonder why he was in Scott's dog house last year and why he was let go for nothing. Bass' game is outstanding. The man can hit from 20 ft and within and can muscle his way inside. His rebounding needs to improve, but that comes from positioning and plain desire. He's got a good basketball IQ and I like his game a lot. With the right coach and the right style of play, he could become the next Brand or Boozer. Everyone is talking about moving Bass to the 3 and keeping Dirk at the 4. Why not reverse that? Dirk played the 3 when Juwan was first here and he was starting. Dirk creates a heckuva mismatch when he plays the 3. A lineup of Kidd, Howard, Dirk, Bass, and Damp would be phenomenal. Yet I digress. We have no Dirk. Nevermind. Bass for POG...

Hmm, game's over now, first half I'd definitely say Dampier, Howard had a great second half, and Stackhouse had a great all around game.

I'm going to have to go with Howard, but both Stack/Dampier are deserving.

Everyone was great... Dampier gets my vote though because he was great for the entire game

Not with 7 turnovers.

Definatly not Jamaal Magloire, thats for damn sure!

I'd go with:

1st choice: Dampier---19 pts on 8-12 shooting, 17 reb & a blk
2nd choice: Howard----32 pts on 8-22 shooting, 7 reb, 4 stls, 2 ast, 2 TOs

I would say 1a & 1b if Howard was say 8-15 instead of 8-22 or if he did not have the TO's, but given the whole performance, I'd go with Dampier.

Damp because Josh's shooting percentage was not good...

Damp was good. But its easy to score 19 against Powell and Fazekas. Ironic how they are two former Mavs big men.

we could have co-POG but let's face it, how often does Damp go freakin' postal when steppin' up for a fallen teammate (Dirk)? Damp deserves it hands down in my humble opinion...
