Boston...but that's another subject

When a shooter shoots a jumper and after the ball is released from the hands the defender touches him and the refs call a foul. What's the point? I mean the ball is clearly out of the hands and it won't mess up the shooting itself and it won't change the ball's rotation and what not...i don't like it

It would be a foul whether the player has the ball or not. The fact he is in the process of shooting is sort of irrelevant.

I hate when people are so petty that they constantly have to mention their hatred of someone or somewhere. We get it.

you gotta give the shooter the ability to land. so while it might not techincally be a shooting foul, its still a foul

true, but it wouldn't be a shooting foul if you did it to a non ball carrying player

I hate when people are so petty that they have to mention hatred of someone or somewhere, neither of which that person knows or has been to. Hatred of New York just because it's New York, Boston because it's Boston, Texas because it's Texas, it's just ridiculous.

The reason I hate Boston is because their fans feel like mentioning it in every thread.

Stay on topic guys...

I thought this thread was going to be about racism or war.

What you guys fail to realize is that rotation matters. When the ball has already left, the ball's torque KOBE BRYANT.

If you wanted to stick with a topic then you shouldn't have made a stupid remark about a place and people you know nothing about. It was your choice to go trolling. Boston has its good people and traditions as does New York, LA, Chicago, Houston, etc.

In any case, your complaints of Boston and of fouls after a shot are both stupid. Boston is one of my most favorite places and a lot of my favorite people are from there. Players need to know that the ground below them is their own space. You take the foul after the shot out of the equation and you'll have a lot of injured players on vulnerable outside shots.

I've never really said this before, and it might surprise some people, but I don't like Boston that much either (just kidding).

I'm not really sure how I feel about these after the shot / continuation foul calls...

Keep up the ignorance. You just keep showing how you have no idea what you are talking about. It will be nice when you finally get banned.

Wow, you don't know what you're talking about, but certainly show you know nothing about the city or people. (FYI: A Boston accent is nothing like an Irish accent.)

I can see how the follow through can be considered a foul. If continuation to the hoop is a part of a shot, and someone went in to hard then the follow-through must certainly be a part of the shot too.

Just imagine Bowen's excitement if he heard it would be an off the ball foul for aggresive foul threws. I guarantee you before the playoffs are over he would accidently follow threw and blind a star for a game or two..

The thing that pisses me off is if the defender is in teh air, then the shooter leans in THEN after the contact starts the shooting motion. Those are two seperate motions and the foul should be a non-shooting foul. Nothing more then if someone triped a player or something like that.

Vague thread titles.

but i actually do agree, when the contact is long after and it becomes a shooting foul.
