We all criticize Kohl for his many screwups. This time we have to give him credit. But yes it does all depend on the level of control.
But Hammond had a good gig where he was, has turned down other offers and certainly knows all about Kohl and his cronies. Him taking the job means those issues have hopefully been addressed.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

That's my thinking too, MD. Why would Hammond leave a cushy job with a great team if he wasn't guaranteed critical elements by Kohl? He'd be stupid not to get those types of assurances.
I love the fact he comes from an organization which has a strong handle on salary structure, has a proven recent history of championship-caliber production and understands the importance of defense. The Pistons have been smart with their own free agents - knowing when to cut bait (Ben Wallace) and realizing the importance of keeping players but at a smart price (Chauncey Billups), drafted well for the most part (yes they screwed up with Darko but they also landed Prince with a late first) and have developed a strong, smart foundation of players who play the game the right way.
All of this is in stark contrast with what has gone on in Milwaukee the past few seasons. This is the guy I wanted to see get the job once Walsh was gone and I'm thrilled Kohl made the smart play here.
Nothing will not break me.

Wow, no matter how stessful my week has been, this has made it better!
I'm sooooooo glad we have a guy in for a high-class organization that actually knows something about well-rounded, tough, and defensive players.
Also soooo glad this guy will be in charge of the draft.

Yes, yes, YESSSSS!
Thank you, Jesus!!!!!!!!
Finally, a move out of this team that shows that they realize they are an actual NBA Franchise, and not just a glorified D-League team where scrub-@ss wannabe-NBA coaches go to see if they can cut it at this level!
I've been saying since December that if Larry Krapstowiak were brought back as the Bucks coach next season, I would not be back as a Season-Ticket Holder, which I honestly thought was what was going to happen until just a few minutes ago!
Thank God!!!
Hammond is a nice GM - I'm excited to see what he can do with this group of losers we call a roster.
But, make no mistake - the best part of this announcement for me is the impending ouster of the worst coach in Bucks' history - Larry Clownstowiak!!!!
