Combined FG% for each team's 2 biggest shot takers

Post#1 » by Sid the Squid » Fri Apr 11, 2008 5:35 pm

Golden State (Davis-Jackson) = 41.8%

LA Lakers (Bryant-Odom) = 48%

Sacramento (Martin-Artest) = 45.4%

Phoenix (Stoudemire-Barbosa) = 54%

LA Clips (Kaman-Maggette) = 47%

Utah (Williams-Boozer) = 53%

Seattle (Durant-Wilcox) = 44.5%

Portland (Roy-Aldridge) = 46.6%

Denver (Iverson-Anthony) = 47.3%

San Antonio (Duncan-Parker) = 49.4%

Minnesota (Jefferson-McCants) = 48.7%

I can go on and on...These two knuckleheads are the worst.....Baron and Jack's shot selection and shooting sucks donkey balls .

Now look at the FG% of our kids...

Biedrins 62.5 %
Ellis 53.2 %
O'Bryant 55.6%
Wright 55.4%

There's something not right with this team...I smell an ODB in the area...Things are totally out of wack on this team..On both ends of the floor,,With rebounding and blocked shots...We need LB!!

Are you going off his knick experience? Ive been following LB since the 70's and he's always been fair...You give me a team and I'll tell you the story of how LB turned the into a fundament monster....You want young players under Brown? I got a ton......

To know LB you have to know the distant past...Going off the knick debacle is a joke..They didnt have any young talent..That's what LB was trying to deal with..Stupid knick fans thought Frye and Nate were the 2nd coming of Malone and Stockton

LB loves length..He loves playing the game the right way..He's perfect for this team right now..Maybe not in 2 or 4 years..but RIGHT NOW.

Hamilton was already a 20 pt scorer before Brown and Tay had broken thru in the postseason under Carlisle. Plus, Brown's gonna be at a gig for what, 2-3 yrs max, and out goes another coach and more instability for the franchise.

As much as I dislike Brown, who knows, maybe he could do something similar with Baron the way he did with Billups. I would basically say that he was the one who turned Billups into an allstar.

I don't however like the way he treats his young players. Pretty rough on them, similar to Nellie.

Sure, must be. Just b/c I don't want a coach who's left his team high and dry before and leaves almost every gig after a handful of years means I want Keith Smart.

Brown mismanaged a number of young players, tried to trade AI, traded Stack, screwed with Hughes and Tim Thomas in Philly, didn't even bother with Darko. He's great with a veteran club with a 2-3 year window but he's just not the right coach for our squad.

here's Rems first response back then.......

I liked a lot about Nellie, but he was awful when it came to developing young big men. we'd end up dealing POB and Biedrens for sone adequate veteran after the young W's sat for a year or 2. Nellie would likely turn Monta into a a star and Biedrens-POB-Taft into trade bait.

Nellie now feels he's past the travelling a coach does. Nobody older than Old Rem wants to wake up in a different hotel 3 days a week.

Most of these names you and I are bringing up were thought to have star talent and ended up being flakes..How does this show a bad track record for LB?

You can't hire a coach on 5 or 10 year plan..That's not how the NBA works...We hire Brown and he massively improves the fundamentals of our young talent..We win playing the right way..We become a force..Will Brown leave us early? Of course!!

Because it shows his inability to properly develop youngsters and his preference for vets just like Nellie. He's shipped them out of town early (Hughes, Stack) or failed to play them. He traded the number two pick for TT and failed to do anything with him.

Obryant's considered a bust by most of the NBA, but is that because he actually fizzled or because Nellie and the coaching staff did nothing for the kid?

Look back through the years,,Look at LB's Indiana years..How he turned that franchise around and how players like Miller and Smits swear by him..Look what he did with the clips in the 80's..What he did in the ABA..Kansas and UCLA..San Antonio and Detroit..He took Philly to the finals with a crap roster and you're blasting him for that stop..Tim Thomas? Practice? Tim Thomas? Really?

Nellie may have helped O'Bryant long term. I know O'Bryant has the physical talent to play well in the NBA but I don't know about his attitude. Now POB knows that nothing will be handed to him and that he must work for success if he wants it.

Unfortunately POB's success won't be in a Warrior's uniform.
