I have been thinking about this for a while and it is time I put it out there.
seems like Byron Scott has this award locked up and being a Lakers fan the homer in me has no problem with one of my all time favorite Lakers getting the award.
with that said I was thinking as to why he is getting it and realized that he has not done much more than Phil Jackson has done this year and Phil is not even in the conversation of COY and to be honest Doc Rivers did bring a team with less wins than NO to the very top of the NBA and made history in the process. so I was disappointed to realize that Scotts forte this year has very strong competition from coaches that aren't being considered for the award.
that promted me to look at other candidates and I must say that Rick Adlelman is the one coach that impresses me the most this year.
he did something that other coaches didn't do this year. he had the second longest winnig streak in NBA hystory. I say that is comperable to Kobes 81 point game in historical terms.
3 games before the end of the season his team had a chance to finish 1st in the west so I wont penalize him for not finishing there. as much as it pains me to recognize an ex-King Adleman gets my vote for COY.
who gets yours?
