"The" Call: refs cheat the Rox?

Post#1 » by karizma87 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 4:42 am

1) scola definitely reached out to stop AK from getting to TMac in the corner...is this legal in the NBA?

2) if AK didn't sell the call with the acting, would the refs have called it?

let me know what you think

Yes it was both a flop and a foul. It's a legit call but AK put on the performance of a lifetime acting like he got hit by a truck.

It was a flop, but they've been calling that stuff all playoffs. Did you see the Suns-Spurs game?

AK didn't do much acting cause he is a friggin toothpick and got a forearm from a power forward to keep him from getting the ball.

It was a flop...somehow the Jazz get the flop call yet they are on the road. AT HOME, it should have been a no-call.

That was TERRIBLE.

Reminds me of the Finley out of bounds play in Game 5.

the whistle blew way before the shot even went up so the fact that it went it shouldn't even be considered.

That shouldn't be a reason why the league should make those bad calls. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Gigantic flop. Don't pretend.

But why do you think AK knew to flop? Because Scola had been fouling the ENTIRE game in this exact way- pushing, holding, reaching over the top. AK was ready for it, and he was rewarded, because the ref knew Scola was doing it too.

It was completely the right call.

It doesn't make it right, but it does make it less egregious when the refs make that call all the time. The Rockets weren't screwed, its a typical NBA call.

It was definitely a flop, but Scola did foul him. AK47 did what he had to do to get the call, and got it. Had he not flopped, he was still fouled, but may not have gotten the call.

It's cheating. A disguised motive... It's the act of to gain an unfair advantage over the other team. It's against the code of sports ethics.

Egregious? This is not surprising coming from a Jazz fan, a franchise that has been loaded with cheaters.

Bobby Jackson tried to flop on Williams but didn't get the call, maybe he needs to call AK47 in the offseason to give him some lessons.

But he can go right to his locker room and have Batteir and Scola teach him without the travel.

+1. Scola fouled him and AK sold it, probably because he got clobbered on the posession before(on the o rebound) and the refs didn't call it.

I don't care about the Jazz, I'm a Nets fan...

I hate flopping as much as anyone, but if you are going to complain and start a thread about the refs cheating you out of a victory it has to be a really bad call and that foul wasn't bad enough to warrant all this whining.

In todays NBA you can find a call just as bad in the 4th quarter of every game.
