The Hawks are fighting a number of battles as they try to keep their playoff series with the Celtics [team stats] from being just a nanosecond in the sun.
Not only must they deal with opponents who are simply better and more experienced, but they also must fend off the wonderment that accompanies a young team in such situations.

I think one problem in the playoffs is that coaches and players tend to overthink things. The Cs aren't going to do that, they are so much better than us that it doesn't matter how they play. For the Hawks, the temptation is probably to play under control, to conserve energy... I think the only real option is to go for broke and stun the Cs off the bat. Do what Sekou says in his blog and "run, run, run". Sure, they'll be some mistakes and defensive lapses if we do that but if we don't we are going to be stuck playing their style and they are much too good for that.

Can we compete with Boston? I would think so, but it will take all 6 of our top players to be playing a top notch game.
As always, we have trouble in the half court, and I don't see the Hawks getting much of a chance to run. The Celts have a good defensive presence about them, but you have to go at Allen, Pierce and Garnett.
Our only chance to compete is to run. We can't worry about saving energy for Game 3. Forget about calling plays. JJ needs to demand the ball and the frontline needs to play energized.
We have zero time for excuses. It is time to make plays and no waste offensive possessions. That team will wear us down if we give them a chance to. Their 2nd unit gives us problems.

I'm so tired of Woodson. At the start of the year youth was supposed to no longer be an excuse, but he keeps bringing it up. The other thing that annoys me is that he says what he needs to do in interviews proving he's not totally clueless. However in the fire of the game he NEVER delivers. Don't just say the right thing, do the right thing.
