Last possesion of the game...
This might get merged into the game thread I am not sure but 2 questions I have for everyone...
1. Why do you think Hedo waited 3 seconds until he even drove the ball. IMO I would think you would try and drive ASAP so if you were to miss it like Hedo did you would have time to foul.
2. When Hedo did drive in he ran into a defender not sure who but there was contact for sure. Now the contact occured with approx 2 seconds left on the clock. The contact was so hard it should have been either an defensive or an offensive, which again would have given us more time on the clock. So the question is why was neither foul called?

Who cares, it's Hedo, it's the Magic...you're not gonna get those calls.
Lets focus on another thing, when was the last time Hedo made a clutch layup attempt ? That fool can't do it, period. All his clutch plays come from JUMPSHOTS...why not take a jumpshot ? Take a 3 if you need...whenever I see him going to the paint...I know he's gonna miss.

Too bad, you guys should be tied with DET.
As bad of a agme as Howard was having I honestly thought he was our best bet. But we all knew Hedo was going to take it

Hedo must have thought the game was tied cause only in that situation you would run the clock down. And the refs were and always will be inconsistent. Just take this series for example, in game 1(I think) Dooling was defending Hamilton late in the game with very little time to go. He got called for tripping Hamilton, which was minor to no contact. Today, Hedo collides with the defender and nothing.

I think that is was annoys me the most it should have been a foul whether it was defensive or ofensive. Which would have given us one more chance of hope. But whatever time to focus on game 5. Im hoping we come out firing in game 5 we have nothing to lose. And now everyone probably has us losing on Tuesday. If we can sneak that game out and bring it back to Orlando thats going to be nuts

Because even though "technically it was a defensive foul", we don't want refs deciding the outcome of games. So if someone gets fouled, the refs should swallow the whistle because they may end up deciding the outcome...oh wait, maybe not making calls also decides outcomes...I'm confused now.
It was a foul, period. Many many players make moves with the intention of getting fouled, it's a part of the game. How is calling something like that earlier in the game and not calling it later "not influencing the outcome". When you call it in the middle of the game it also had some effect on the outcome.

Actually Hedo lost control of the ball before he had any contact yes folks Hedo had another turnover. And why he waited so long you will have to ask him as I am sure coach SVG has already done.
The good news if there is any is that this series is not over and the Magic can win in Detroit we all know they can and then back here to tie the series. I am sure SVG is beating into their brains these same words.
So instead of sounding like a wake here the Magic need us to cheer them on to victory.

Hedo's layup was the game winning fieldgoal in Game 2 vs the Raps man

I really thought Hedo was going to unleash a 3.
He definitely got fouled on his lay-up attempt, but there's no way the refs were going to call it, not that late in the game (and again, certainly not for us).
Anyway, without Hedo's 4th quarter we don't even sit in that situation.

Wait are you guys talking about the play where McDyess came to a stop, outside the circle, and set his feet, and then took the very clear charge from Hedo? You guys really wanted that called? What if the shot had gone in, you'd lose the points if that was called!
(i didnt even mention the fact that the ball was actually out of his hands at that point, consider it mentioned)

if nelson makes half of his freakin freethrows, or dwight makes 1 shot that isn't a dunk, or fooling doesn't pick up that tech we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
and yes hedo should've taken a jumpshot, because he was feeling it. and there was still time for a putback but dwight whiffed on it...again

I believe that Dwight didn't know that there was enough time to actually grab the rebound and go up for either a strong lay-up take or a putback dunk.
Had he known the time scenario, he would've done better than a poor tip.

No. we're talking about at the end of the game. The left foot was in the circle and he was still moving.

In Defense of Hedo You can't just go (unless you are Wade. Kobe or AI) you have to see what gives you the best shot . He got to the basket. I think he chose right. With a just a little more control that goes in and just about wins the game.
Make the free throws and they have it firmly in hand. Even Doolings bone head tech didn't matter since Detroit missed it.

To be honest, I really don't. I understand where you're coming from,
I mean it was him and him alone that gave us a winning chance, scoring like 10 points in a row. When I think of ALL the game winning clutch performances of Hedo, almost ALL are jumpshots. coincidence ? I remember against the Nets, he drived inside and turned it over, I remember against Atlanta, drove inside and took a forced shot, against Detroit, drove inside went for a layup but missed. I don't trust Hedo when he goes to the basket in the final seconds. If he was Kobe he would've gotten that call, but he's not and he has to understand that.
Then you think about all his clutch performances, almost all jumpshots. Boston 3, Chicago jumpshot 2 fadeaway, Miami, long 3, against Seattle, fadeaway long 2 and many more which have all been jumpshots. He's good at that, so why not take a long 2 fadeaway or a 3 ? Go inside, stop jump back take a good shot. That's what's bugging me.
