Who's more athletic?

Vince.

James White is like Gerald Green, never had the body strength to effectively use his athletic gifts, so it's pretty moot.

Vince.

Although White is a better leaper--at least horizontally.

Are we talking about prime Vince? If we aren't, White wins this easily. If we are, VC wins it by a small margin.

Vince wins this by a large margin.

Athleticism is not confined to run-jump ability and Vince has the shoulders and mass (and consequently the strength and body control) to make his athleticism valuable. Prime Vince was easily a comparable leaper both vertically and across a lateral distance. White replicates Carter's vertical leap and his distance traveled but it's meaningless given his frame.

Vince easily. There's more to athleticism than just running and jumping... The way Carter can contort his body in mid-air is still ridiculous after all these years...

Vince's vertical leap is nothing compared to White's. White's simply off the charts. The man does between the leg dunks from the freethrow line.

However, Vince is packed. Think of someone like Dwight who is able to jump extremely high with so much weight.

vince is perhaps the best athlete in league history. james white, as said earlier, is just a great jumper with no first step or explosiveness.

You understand that you're blatantly incorrect, right?

Vince has been evidencing a vertical of 42-44" (that is, standing vertical) even post-injury and over 30. You know that, right? Sometimes he still gets up as high as he did when he annihilated Frederic Weis' dignity at the 2000 Olympics. Vince at a comparable age to White was possessed of a similar vertical leap.

I can't believe you would be as foolish as to make that claim.

I'd like to see James White's vertical and speed if he added 35 pounds or so to get to Vince Carter weight.

Watch some youtube videos. White puts his head 3-4 inches above the rim at ease. White can also jump longer.

White is the better athlete (and best dunker of all time IMO), but he is a stick.

Vince can too and he's able to jump off one and both feet unlike White who only jumps off one foot
