I almost never make posts and this is not going to my usual rant about how we are going to lose and all that.
When all is said and done I think 01/02 Celtics will be the better team. While no one will disagree that the 2008 Celtics regular season was better we can all agree that the regular season does not matter.
I am baffled as to what I am seeing here. This 2008 team beat EVERY team in the NBA at least 1 time. They dominated at home and on the road. This team reminds me of the patriots. The dominated the regular season and then the play-off sstarted. Game by game the pats looked more beatable until it finally happed.
Consistency: The 2002 Celtics teams were consistent. Walker, Anderson (remember game 5 against the pistons?) and PP played well almost all the time. They were reliable, the showed composure. Where they perfect? No but more times than we not we knew they would play solid defense almost every night.
Here is the issue. This team is not consistent. They have defensive laps, they lack composure, they look lost on offense and they let the refs take them out of the game. Overall KG is the only player we can count on right now but he cannot do it alone. Look at what is happening here. PP has not has not played well overall. He defense has been pretty good but the issue is that he is not finishing at the hoop nor is he shooting well. To me he seems to force the issue when he is playing against James.

This team played with playoff intensity all season long, thanks to KG.
The NBA is always dissed as a waste of time until the playoffs because that's when the season begins.
I think that we're just not that good when eveyone's bringing their A game. Atlanta was a joke when we played them, even in that last reg season game when they needed a win. Come playoffs, a different story.
The only other possibility is that away crowds scare the living **** out of our players. I guess that's possible.
