Just having a little fun with a Boston Rebuild

Post#1 » by njncarter15 » Fri May 23, 2008 4:15 am

Let's say Boston loses to Detroit and decides that the Big 3 is not getting any younger. What could they get in return? I was thinking something like this....do any of these teams take these deals? (under the assumption that Boston is in full rebuild mode)

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Chicago, Boston, Miami and Cleveland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Chicago, Boston, Miami and Cleveland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

2008 CLE #19 (Roy Hibbert)

Chicago Lineup After Trade

Hinrich-Gordon-Deng-Garnett-Noah

Finally get the dominating PF they've been looking for as they attempt to win now, while dumping Hughes & Nocioni's bad deals in the process

Miami Lineup After Trade

Rondo-Wade-Pierce-Haslem-Perkins

Gives Wade another great scoring option, an extremely good young PG that has played great this postseason, and a good young C while they dump Blount's contract

Cleveland Lineup After Trade

West-Allen-James-Smith-Ilgauskas

Lebron gets the hot-shooting sidekick he has desperately needed. They only get rid of their 1st rder pretty much which would take time to develop, something unneccessary with their current win-now mentality

Boston Lineup After Trade

Rose-Hughes-Marion-Beasley-Hibbert

This team is actually not that far off from competing in the next year or two. This is a very good defensive team and the bench would actually be OK with Gooden, Nocioni, Sczcerbiak and Blount.

OBVIOUSLY unrealistic, but thoughts??

C's would probably move Marion for someone

Why not Marion for Ben Gordon/Ty Thomas

Rose-Gordon-Thomas-Beasley-DeAndre Jordan (trade up somehow)
