MIFUNE: All right, this is it. Now, you all know me, so I'll just say this as simple as I can. If it's our time to die, it's our time. All I ask is: if we have to give these bastards our lives, we give 'em hell before we do!

I wouldn't be surprised (and really hope ...) we win this one, but I also believe that in the end (game 6 or 7) the Lakers will win. Just seems we're too inconsistent.

Everything depends on Manu. Which Manu will show up ?

Well, no one (except for a few of us Spurs fans) expect us to win this one, so why not? Keep the drive for five alive!

Hopefully the one that doesn't suck.

In 2008, if Manu sucks then so do the Spurs. Simple as that.

Well since Kobe shot 1 FT in game 2 and Manu laid an egg in game 4 - I'd say both are possible.

I think Kobe will take 15 FTs tonight.

But even so, Steve Javie was announced as the lead ref, and he was voted #1 road friendly ref. :-) So, that gives us hope we might get a fair shake overall on the foul line. That's all I can ask for.

Refs and homecourt aside, we have to play the perfect game tonight and the next 2 games.

We cannot afford to be outrebounded, we cannot afford to lay eggs, play ineffective lineups, miss defensive assignments or make silly turnovers and fouls.

We are not the Suns!

I don't think even with the help of the refs you can win this one

There is the classic Laker arrogance that we have expected after all these years. Bravo.

Should Pop pull a Bill Parcells to start the game?

When he goes on the road, Bill ropes in the offense and goes straight vanilla, plays it safe to avoid turnovers and stuff, focuses on playing his best defense. This is because he just wants a tight game with a chance to win.

This game, that's what we need. We can't afford the Lakers to come out strong and fast and build a lead. We'll get buried and it's over. We need to find a way to keep this close to start the game, because they will come out emotionally fired up and try to run us out of the building. We need to survive this roundhouse we'll see early.

Pop did this in NO a couple of games to start and that led to a couple of losses though. Mostly because Tony couldn't attack CP and put the pressure on. We got blown out.

Hmmm...

Ok, so, we can't go conservative. Tony has had a decent series, but he was our best player the first coouple of series I think. He was our best player in the playoffs last year all the way to a title. I dont think good is good enough from him. He needs to take over here.

So, I expect Pop to roll with this. Put the ball in TPs hands and tell his three best players and vets to put some pressure on them. Win or lose, I think he'll let them loose and live with the outcome.
