Will JJ play on the olympic team this summer?

Post#1 » by Jjforprez » Sun Jun 1, 2008 7:15 pm

I sure hope not.... It's a great honor and everything, but it looked like playing on that team last summer affected him during the season. I'd rather he get the rest, and spend some time working on his game....maybe learn how to play out of the double teams a little bit better.

I read somewhere that he maybe on the bubble for making the olympic team. I'm definitely ok with him not going.

I think it'll make him better. Why do you say that it affected him during the season? It'll bring great honor to Atlanta yet again, and I really don't think there would be much of a problem if he played.

Last year he had his best year. At the sametime it wore him out and made him injury prone. He didn't have as good of a year this year until Bibby arrived. Then he look like the JJ from last year. I will be glad if he makes, but I won't be upset if he doesn't. He will barely play anyways.

It would be great for him to make the Olympic team and like Libid21 said it will bring honor to our franchise. Playing will help Joe take his game to another level just by going against some of the best in the NBA and the world.

When you play 40 + min a night, every chance to rest up should be considered. Of course he'd play if named for USA team, but I hope he stays home chilling. Now, I really hope the Hawks organization finds a way to get someone to be his back up (Not a D-league guy such as Salim) and a coach smart enough to use his bench and not play guys 43, 46, 48 min a night as the dumb Woodson does.
GO HAWKS.

Well Joe Johnson can't really help whether or not he gets tired. ANY player gets tired when their head coach only lets him take a breather during half time. <_<

exactly what I was thinking. If we had a real offense and Joe wasn't THE offense we wouldn't hit rock bottom the 15 seconds he leaves the game lol

Return to Atlanta Hawks
