The Pistons and Curry agreed on a three-year deal worth $2.5 million a season. The team holds an option for a fourth season.

Thought the details of the contract were interesting.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Well the players like and respect him so he's a good choice because i doubt they would respect a guy like Avery and sure didn't respect Flip.

Where are the tacticians ?

I really have the feeling that half of the NBA coaches really aren't experts in X's and O's but more or less babysitters for teams full of players with ego problems. The X and O part is taken care of by the way more knowledgable assistants.

Curry should do fine, but the team needs to be refined, and I expect Joe to keep the team among the top of the East.

Good Hire... they'll do just as fine, probably even better.

Generally, if a coach is fired, the team is still on the hook for the remainder of their contract. The Bulls are still on the hook for Skiles, and the Pistons are still on the hook for the final year of Flip's deal, for example.

Curry will be a good coach but not as good as Saunders was when he first came to coach the Pistons. The Pistons really needed to go out and hire someone outside of their own team to regain the attention of the players.

Totally disagree. What this hire does is give the Pistons a coach from WITHIN the organization that the players already DO respect and will give their attention to. Flip was hired from outside the organization; you saw how well that turned out. He got no respect from the players whatsoever.
