unfair to the fans..

Post#1 » by HarlemHeat37 » Wed Jun 11, 2008 7:57 pm

this is about the incident, but I don't think it should be in the other thread..

should we, as fans, stand up and say something? we need to rise up and try and make an effort to change the NBA..we need to make an effort to clean this L up, AS MUCH AS WE CAN..we're all die-hard fans here, and I don't wanna be a die-hard fan of a **** rigged league..this isn't wrestling, it's supposed to be a professional sport with fair officiating..we can boycott, we can e-mail every sports outlet out there..NBA magazines..

how are we supposed to watch games now? every time I'm gonna watch a game, I don't think I'll be able to ignore the thoughts of rigging and fixing these games..every time a lopsided trade happens, I don't think I'll be able to ignore the thoughts of rigging and fixing..

it's unfair to Kings fans, because they might have lost a title..it's unfair to Rockets fans, because who knows what could have happened had they advanced to the next round..it's even unfair to Laker fans(even though they possibly received a rigged title), because now every fan is going to question the legitimacy of one of their titles, whether or not it is proven..

it's just **** up that we all pay money to watch these games, we all take our time to watch these games..we buy merchandise..we put our hearts into cheering for our teams..and then we have to hear some **** like this..it's unfair, and I think fans should do something to make sure that this doesn't happen again..

Stern needs to be fired..**** Stern..**** the crooked refs..**** the NBA..

I agree. Stern will deny the hell out of it and sweep this under the rug if the fans or nba players dont step up. if i were chris webber, mike bibby, or any of the kings i would make public statements right now about how upset i am and that stern should be fired for his crap era

Aside from not going to games and not buying merchandise, what can we as fans really do?

DO NOT underestimate what that can do, the whole league is based just on that, it's all about money, I guarantee if most people did what you say, the league fall apart.

Stern doesn"t care about fairness all he cares about is lining the pockets of the NBA and the owners.

Stern least of all cares about the true die hard fans who pay a monthly fee for NBA TV, who buy season tickets, who buy merchandise, and who support the NBA thru word of mouth.

We deserve better than this crook. Seattle fans deserve better than this crook. The NBA deserves better than this crook.

Keep pricing out the true fan base in exchange for these bandwagon millionaires and companies. Keep rigging games to line your pockets. Keep doing it Stern. Your censorship and mismanagement will come back to haunt you.

Karma is a b****.

If you're a player you really can't say anything as of yet. Not until more evidence is found any way. All saying something will accomplish is getting fined several hundred thousand dollars. Right now it's the word of a criminal against stern and the league. No one can really prove anything at this point.

That having been said, as a fan, I think you have to be skeptical and a little pissed. Whether this is true or not, It's always going to be in the back of our minds. It really sucks because whenever there's a controversial play/game we will probably be wondering whether or not it was fixed.

I agree, Stern has to go. This should be the final straw. He has mishandled several things. How long does he think he will be the commish? Until he dies of old age?

The NBA is a joke. I love the sport and watching awesome players but the league is on par with boxing and horse racing IMO in terms of credibility.

Out of interest, does anyone have any information about how deeply people are investigating Donaghy's claims. Because I'm not ready to completely believe them until someone shows me hard evidence, although some of what I've seen over the past couple of days has been very convincing.

NO S***!

But the fans of the teams who won or in the finals doesnt really care, its always the losing team's fans that gets screwed, usually they are outnumbered by the team that benefited so.... that how Stern thinks... screw the one that gets him less $$$
