Danilo Gallinari at 21??

Post#1 » by thaanswer » Fri Jun 13, 2008 9:29 pm

In his yesturday workout for the Nets Gallinari said that he wont goo anywhere but New Jersey or New Yokr, or home too Italy..

If the Knicks dont pick him at 6(i dont think they will) then we can pass on him at 10 also pick another top 10 talent and then wait until 21st pick to get him...we would get two top ten talents with out 10 n 21 Steal of the night

heres the link too itt

interesting. but i dont like the fact that he basically has no need to succeed in the nba if he can just go back to europe and make top dollar. So i wouldn't take it at 10, but i guess at pick 21, i wouldn't mind taking that risk.

No way in hell he'll be there at #21 even if he said he'd only play for the Nets/Knicks.

Another team will draft him that possibly could wait for a player to help out (see: Phoenix) and just hang onto his rights till he's ready to come over or trade them away in a package with some other players to seal a deal.

Which means?

He'll be available at No. 10, especially now that everyone hears he's established the ground rules. The kid was practically wearing a "Property of Nets" tattoo on his chest.

Which also means?

If we ran the Nets, we'd let him drift and take him at 21. No other team will take him in the teens and wait five years, so he'll be available down there. Sure, maybe the kid gets miffed that he'll get $1.2M starting wage instead of $2.1M, but that will even out in the end - either he gets a good second contract, or he busts in three years and still gets big Euros.

It could happen. We got nothing to lose. We got to go big at 10. There is too many solid bigs to pass up at 10. Pick a shooter at 21 and hope no one takes the Italian. They are all saying how deep this draft is........Why waste a pick on a guy that wont play for you. Orlando is still waiting for Fran Vazquez. If he wont play for anyone else I highly doubt they would take him. The Draft is too deep. No one is going to waste their pick.

Danilo Gallinari is only 19 has a HUGE offer on the table from one of his Itlalian teams. He gets to be home and gets paid EURO's and not our weak dollar. (DAMN CANADIAN DOLLAR IS STRONGER) It's a win win for him also...he has nothing to lose.

not true, he just said that he really liked NY and so he would have loved to go to the Knicks or the Nets.
That's it.
