Dumb Milwaukee Fans boo Carlos Lee...

Post#1 » by Andrew34r » Sat Apr 21, 2007 1:20 pm

I had to make a thread about this. So why exactly did the Brewer fans boo Carlos Lee? Because he took 60 million more dollars to play elsewhere. He was perfect for us and had a great attitude and still has a great attitude with Houston. He never talked bad about the city or the team. He would have stayed here but it was a no-brainer to take 60 million dollars elsewhere. Any one of you would have done it too.

I expected Lee to get a standing O or at least an appreciative clap...instead he was booed loudly by the un-intelligent Milwaukee fans.

You mean they didn't cheer when he was first announced or anything? I can see them booing the rest of the way, but at least acknowledge him with respect at some point.

That's just dumb. He was the best player for us for a year and a half.

Right. Like someone said above at least a respectful cheer at the beginning. I dont expect them to cheer for him the whole game. But just for this im going to give him a standing O everytime he comes to bat tonight.

Milwaukee fans do that for everyone that comes back. Which is really stupid cause most were traded. It always pissed me off.

I was one of the people that booed yesterday and I don't feel sorry for it. Carlos Lee was great here and everything and I would have went to the Astros in his position. But we went nowhere with Lee in the lineup. And his 2nd half meltdown hurt us in 05. Most Brewers fans are appreciative of his attitude and love for the city, but Milwaukee always boos people who leave. As a small market city, we didn't have the means for a long time to keep high priced players. So in a way, the boos are an appreciation of the time spent here.

It wasn't his fault he got traded, not entirely. You can't fault a guy for wanting to get paid what he's worth...as long as he goes about it the right way, which he did. I think he should have been treated the way any other player should be, no boo's and no cheers.

Yeah, booing him was ridiculous. I don't care if you boo him later on in the game, but initially he didn't deserve to hear any; however, the stands were flooded with more boos than cheers.

Or in Lee's case, way more than he's worth.

Fans like the uniform more than the player.

Many players who were problems and did nothing for the Brewers have got an appreciative clap when they came back. Lee got booed every single time he was announced and came up to bat. He did a lot for the team and was not a problem whatsoever. Respectful fans will give a respectful player a warm reception when they come back to play.
