THE Ryan Braun and Yo-Go Thread

This thread will be where we track the progress of both Ryan Braun and Yovani Gallardo as they hopefully work there way up to Milwaukee this season. I will try to update this as much as possible and hopefully if I don't get to it someone else will.

So far, thru 24 games, Braun's numbers are:
.329 BA, 7 HR, 15 RBI's, .694 slg%, .408 OBP, 9 SO, 3 SB, and 1 error.

Yovani Gallardo thru 5 Appearances:
3-1, 30 IP, 2.70 ERA, 42 K, 8 BB, 1 HR given up, and 3-7 at the plate with a home run.

sometimes i worry that the brewers have too many good prospects. i mean look at it. They are stacked for 6 years with Hardy, Braun, Weeks, Fielder, Hall, Hart. Where do people like Lorenzo Cain, Tony Gwynn Jr., Cole Gillespie, Hernan Iribarren, Alcides Escobar and all of them fit in?? I just wonder sometimes.

i think that in a few years maybe 2 or 3 our Rotation and Lineup should look like this:

1B: Prince Fielder
2B: Rickie Weeks
3B: Ryan Braun
SS: JJ Hardy
LF: Lorenzo Cain
CF: Bill Hall
RF: Corey Hart
C: Angel Solome

Ben Sheets
Yovani Gallardo
Will Inman
Chris Capuano
Jeff Suppan

I mean where does Bush, Villanueva, Sarfate, Jackson, Jeffress and all of them fit in.

im tellin ya we may have too many good prospects!! lol

Nice problem to have if we end up being in a pennant race and need a veteran player to put us over the top.

I was going to start a thread about Yo. I don't know much about him other than the crazy strikeout numbers. I was just reading in espn magazine and their fantasy guy was talking about midseason call-ups and under Yo it said "think Francisco Liriano 2005". Is that his upside? Has anyone here seen him pitch? He's got a mid 90's fastball which he can command and good command of his secondary pitches. He has a very good curveball that he gets into the mid 70's with good movement. He could add a couple MPH's to his fastball when he's done filling out his body.

I saw him pitch at the futures game last year in Pittsburgh and the ball just exploded out of his hand.

There is no cap in baseball. I think you mean his service time/free agent status. I think it's late May, early June for that.

I say we package maybe 3 of our prospects to pull in an absolute monster of a player. Maybe someone like Miguel Cabrera (can play 3B and move Braun to LF/RF or Cabrera can go to LF). Or we could get a REAL leadoff hitter like Carl Crawford from the D-Rays. They'd kill for some pitching like Jackson and Villaneuva.

I agree. I love having tons of talent. But I would also like to get that talent developed. On a side note RyanBraun poster. JJ Hardy will never be a clean up hitter. He is good. But if he is our clean up we have a problem.

We've have to give up Yo-Go or Braun in either deal. I would still make the deal for Cabrera. Crawford? not so much.

Holy hell, I'll be surprised if he's not up by the Minnesota series in May. If not before then.

I'd love to have him up by the start of the next home stand.

Yeah we would that deal wouldn't come close. Miguel Cabrera is younger/same age as all those players and has been 10000x better than them at the major league level.

Braun should be braught up and be our starting 3B immediatly. You just cant ignore his hitting ability. It seems like he has improved his glove over the past month. I say hes up in about 2 weeks. I guess this is a mean thing to say but I wouldnt mind seeing Graffy or Counsell get a minor injury. Then that would pretty much force our hand to bring him up

A trade needs to be worked out for wither Graffy or Counsel ...as well as a trade for Gabe Gross to get Tony Gwynn more playing time.

I say hes up in about 2 weeks.

No chance of that barring an injury.If they wait 4 weeks,it won't count as a year of service time.

I'll stick by June 1st
