Texas Series (both)

Post#1 » by Ryanz24 » Sat Apr 28, 2007 8:35 pm

I dont have time to make a proper game thread

But I suppose we can chat about the texas series here

Game 1 Towers gets thumped and tossed from the rotation

Game 2 We blow another save and yet tie it in bottom of ninth - result to come

This is the 5th game that we have lost directly because of the bullpen.

I was so mad when Frasor walked that batter and then hit Catalanotto. Make them beat you at the very least.

I really like Adam Lind and it is too bad that the bullpen had to waste his home run.

In a way I think this game coudl be a good thing -

Maybe JP is seeing that we may notbe able to hold the fort for the next 6 weeks and will go out and get help

Brad lidge anyone? Be the perfect setup man once BJ gets back...

Bullpen that includes

BJ
Lidge
A healthy League
Downs
Jansen
Fraser
Tallet

Now that is a bullpen

There have been a lot of reports that Houston will not trade Lidge. He will be in high demand if they do trade him and I think we would have to give up too much to get him.

Big win for the Jays and with Halladay pitching tommorow there's a great chance for a series split which will be important because winning even one game against Cleveland will be tough.

That was a nice effort by Tommo today...seems to be roudning into form...if he can pitch like that and zambrano can regain his form, I like our rotation.

BP is still up in the air...marcum is jsut terrilbe

The Jays have the second lowest bullpen ERA in the AL at 3.33. Only the Red Sox are better, at an ERA at 2.17. VERY, very surprising, especially considering BJ's struggles earlier on...

In that stat are you sure they are taking BJs stats into account or just the RP that are currently active?

Roy Halladay is the ebst pitcher in baseball. He is pitching another great game today and has only allowed 1 run through 7 innings. He should be going for his 5th win if Ryan had saved that game for him.

Halladay with the complete game and only allowed 1 run. He is my favourite player by far.

It includes BJ's stats, I believe.

Yes it includes BJs

Halladay is in some sort of rythm and really keeping the team afloat. What a dominating pitcher, and he is striking out more than last year. Good to hear that he is very confident and comfortable with Phillips calling the game behind the plate.

Its awesome having a pitcher of Halladay's calibre who can come in and put your mind at ease as it's almost certainly going to be a victory. At least the way hes pitching now it is.

Halladay has is throwing his nasty curve ball like he did when he won his Cy Young award and hopefully we can get another quality start from Burnett tonight and keep the momentum going.
