Injury Update (Green, Alou, Valentin)

Post#1 » by Luv those Knicks » Sat May 26, 2007 6:02 pm

Green has a broken bone in his foot, but it's not expected to keep him out long. He'll rest the weekend & see how he feels, he might go on the 15 day DL, but he might not need to. It's a "good break" - not the kind that keeps a player out a long time.

(as a fan, I wonder if this will make him even slower in the outfield when he returns) - but, that's what today's time says - he may only miss this weekend.

Alou may be activated in Green is DL'd.

and Valentin is about 2 weeks away. Willie says he'll get his starting job back when he returns.

(from today's NYTimes article about Duque) - NYtimes.com, click Sports - look for El Duque article.
Bill Clinton slept with an intern. A consenting adult and he got impeached and nearly disbarred as a result. Donald Trump went to parties showcasing underaged women brought in as basically prostitutes, and he says it's nothing.

Double standard?

El Duque also said that he will have to see how he feels today if he can make his next start on time... He just came back and already he is tender. Hopefully it's nothing.

They should just DL Green, because injury reports with this team always seem to be worse than they say.

Why is Willie giving Valentin his job back so easily? Easley has played pretty damn well and I think deserves a fair chance to keep the job.

it's not fair to demote a player due to injury. If he doesn't perform and Easley keeps it up, Easley will play ahead of him. I don't think they mind though. It's such a fun team-oriented clubhouse that they wouldn't mind letting others play, especially for Easley who signed on as a reserve.
