Any Thread On Mota?

Post#1 » by StutterStep » Sun Aug 12, 2007 6:16 pm

Any Thread On Mota?

If so, please provide a link because I want to discuss this guy.

If not, then wtf is his problem?

Those who claim steroids don't help pitchers, Mota is my argument.

Has there ever been a more clueless washed up pitcher?

He throws the same 2 pitches in practically the same sequence to every batter. And, if he's not throwing 96+ with steroids, then his fastball is just a soup'ed up change.

who argued that? steroids prolly help pitchers as much or even more than hitters(stamina, strength, recovery, most importantly confidence), its just more obvious to detect it in hitters.. i wouldnt dump mota as he still has very good stuff, jus dont use the dude in big spots or after the 7th inning..

considering he's throwing just as hard as he was last season, i don't really see how you can make the case that steroids were the reason he was so effective...they don't do anything for your control...

he's overusing his changeup... not setting it up with his fastball...he's barely using his slider... does peterson have something against sliders? heilman had a good one at notre dame but that's disappeared

I have argued with friends about this, and if you notice when they discuss steroids in the media they automatically talk home runs - I guess because it's sexy.

We agree on the bold part but not on the speed of his fastball. Last August up through the post-season he was a 96mph plus high. Now he's 96 and under middle and in to righties.

Mota gots to go. He's a bum without his steroids. Give his mid/late inning spot to Sosa.

what was the fastest he threw last season? 98? he throws a consistent 96 now; i'm still not convinced that the steroids made him that much better. yeah, the correlation's there but correlation does not mean causation.

he's realy strange. he has the stuff. as the fastball. he's just simply not effective. and willie ALWAYS puts him in. probably a secret love affair or something.

we shoudn't drop the guy. we have sosa for the 7th. and possibly smith for something like that.

He should be the guy we bring in the 6th inning when we're losing by a lot of runs.
