Cardinals outfielder Juan Encarnacion will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining multiple fractures to his left eye socket and an injury to his left eye, the team announced Saturday morning.

Knocked out for the year while waiting in the on-deck circle...just when you think this season can't get any weirder.
I wish him the best. He's not a bad player, and I kinda like him. It's not his fault his contract is now a liability what with the rise of cheap young power hitters Duncan, Ankiel, and probably even Ludwick.

That was scary to see what happened to him.
Here's hoping his health and vision get back to where they should be. After that let's hope he can play again.
Just kinda scares me thinking of all the times we just screw around at the park or whatever playing with a hardball, and we forget how badly it can injure.
